Yeahhhh, this will likely be patched. I didn't know about this event either, and the devs probably copied the lore not realizing what it seemed to be referencing.

Google it and read what that employee had to say.
The words "controlling bitch" were used I believe.

Not really. This is basic dog whistle coding. The target audience already knows what it is. Maybe not all of them but some do.

It's possible JKR picked up on a dog whistle without realizing it and just repeated it not knowing what it means. I'm pretty sure she was just scrolling through a thesaurus with "Ron ejaculated loudly" but I'm also really tired of giving people the benefit of the doubt as it statistically has not worked out well.

Honestly, its about the many boxes checked off that fits teh stereotypes of it. Not "this makes me think of the Jewish people"

Although I wouldn't know shit about it. I didn't even know anything about Jewish stereotypes when I was younger and only really learned about what antisemitism was when I got a bit older. They don't really do much explanation in school and I had to learn by asking questions and reading about it.

So I never really got to compare goblins to the Jewish people.

Moira Squier, lead producer James Cabrera, and director Alan Tew did not do their due dilligence to make sure Troy's views wouldn't make it into the game. Everyone on the decision making board of that dev team either did this on purpose, endorsed it, or just didn't care.

Yeah, this is not a good look at all. I mean they were already getting criticized for anti-semeticism so leaving this here is a major red flag. Still doesn't take away my enjoyment from the game but this seems to me like a major oversight to gloss over lol.

People failed at getting the game boycotted over Rowling, so now they're desperately going after the actual dev team.

It is very clearly a shofar. I have a few of them in my house myself. I instantly recognized it as such before I even read any of the text.

Shofars can be made from the horns of any bovines. Rams are just the most common. This strongly resembles a kudu horn with a larger opening. A dog whistle like this isn't going to be an exact replica of the first result off Google images.

At first, I was thinking that it could be a coincidence. You select an arbitrary year, you come up with an event from the Wizarding World, but this is an extremely unfortunate coincidence if at all it is one.

It reminds me of the WWE having a character named Gunther Stark (a Nazi officer). Like, how difficult is it to use a Google search? If you type in "1612 rebellion," the first thing that pops up (besides articles covering this blunder) is the anti-Semitic rebellion this was most likely patterned after.

I used to watch Troy Leavitts youtube channel. It came out right during that Anita Sarkeesian is a dumb butt era of my life. Looking back at it now where I cringe that I listened to absolute dumbasses like Thunderf00t, I still dont think Leavitts content is at all like how its being characterized. I think his arguments in general were kind of poor, but in the sense that I think any position I dont personally agree with has to be wrong. Nothing he said on there strikes me as altright or anti-semitic. The most contrversial thing I see on there is that he said he disagreed with the severity of firing John Laseter for his misconduit.
