while WWE wrestlers/matches these days seem like boring, crappy, dull, lifeless, uncharismatic crap? Seeing highlights of WWE in 90s and 2000s gets me hyped up while seeing clips/highlights of WWE these days puts me to sleep and sometimes cringe cause of these uncharismatic wrestlers. I admit I watched full WWE episodes on TV as a kid but only short clips of WWE from the past 10 years but WWE these days just don't get my attention. With WWE back in the day even the filler matches with filler or low level wrestlers were great.

Survivorship bias.

The further you will look back, you will only see the best. I really feel that mediocrity never stands the test of time.

Far more receptive crowds enhancing everything, giving them more to play to?

I was never a big wrestling fan, but a buddy and I used to watch Raw and Smackdown every week. That changed when they split the roster into 2 stables. I quickly got tired of seeing the same matches every week.

It wasn't. I still love matches from the Attitude Era, but there are plenty of stinkers.

The commentary has aged well and can be used to elevate other stuff.

Honestly this. A few years back I went through and watched a bunch of WCW and WWE shit from the attitude era. Even jobbers got huge pops back then.

The camera work today is overdone. We need less angles, longer and more dramatic shots.

Jim Ross and King were the perfect commentary combination. They felt authentic and passionate

Today's commentators feel so, so fake

The funny thing is I watched the 1997 Royal Rumble and damn that crowd was dead.

Stone Cold, The Rock and Triple H were still mid-carders who hadn't quite got there yet. Was really bizarre seeing no reaction to Stone Cold coming out. I think Undertaker got the biggest pop. It's so obvious in retrospect that they needed something like the Attitude Era to really shake things up.

Then the following year it was the Stone Cold show and the crowd was what you expected.
