If I want something moderately light chicken gyro is fine - otherwise most Greek food is whack or worse versions of Middle Eastern foods. The only British food I ever care to eat is British Indian stuff like chicken tikka. No desire to ever eat Brazilian food, especially with its inflated price tag. German and Irish are just bad -- and the Poles and Hungarians are better at utilizing cabbage than they are.

Yep. I've never had Italian food before.

you could have called this thread "i like really spicy food" and it would have conveyed the same meaning in less time

Japanese and Dominican aren't particularly spicy - but otherwise valid.

Based on the fact that you put American Chinese below Chinese makes me pretty sure you've never had most things on this list. Or at the least, you couldn't differentiate between most things on it.

I legitimately wouldn't be surprised if you've never had real Italian food before.

What does it cost in the US now? I used to live near a Fogo de Chao back in 2018 and knew it was somewhat pricey.

But now that I live in Braga, the Fogo de Chao here costs 15.90 for the whole deal. Which is a really good value if you are hungry for a lot of meat.

Why is that first part a shocker? Yes general tso's and shit is good - but I'd rather have pork buns, dumplings, scallion pancakes, hot pot, and whatever else. I know I'm using "authentic" lightly here because they eat a lot of shit we'd think is weird in China -- but the same could be said about Thai and Vietnamese as well.

Also the whole ReAL ITAlIaN food shit is a joke. I'm sure everybody's nonas, babcias, and omas just totally forgot how to make "authentic" food when coming over on the boat? I'm sure there's differences, but Western culture's boner and preferential treatment towards Italian culture is dumb as hell.

There's nothing better than some potato pancakes with apple sauce on top as an appetizer.

And sauerbraten is god-tier.

Honestly as an Italian that did have real Italian food growing up, with a parent and grandparents that came to this country on a boat, this is really insulting, yet while still also showing you have no idea what the fuck you are talking about.

Obviously just like literally everything else, Italian food has been overly commercialized and has vastly changed since coming to this country, and so on. The fact that you went for Italian food off the bat, right under American Chinese and then continued with the rest of Europe shows that you probably know nothing about 99% of any of the food there, or what any real food from there would taste like, especially considering your response.

Next time you wanna look cultured or whatever (on CE of all places) without leaving America, at least come up with something more reasonable than, "I gots no one to cook me some real Italian foods, so it sucks! They forgot how to make it good somehow!"

Like just claim you're lactose intolerant and hate all things sold in delis or cured meat at all. Like I'm not even gonna lie and say it all tastes amazing. I threw up the first time I had real imported prosciutto and Buffalo milk mozzarella and honestly they're not my favorite. But to list so many things that come from Europe right after American Chinese and Italian after rating different parts of the same country without leaving yours, no one would believe you ffs.

Honestly, if youve never even left the US then your opinions on cuisines from around the world are fairly worthless.

Also, its hilarious that you view French as one of the worst in the world.
