Who do I remove to get Baron Mordo in there? Bishop? Green Goblin? I also don't have Black Widow yet so I can't toss her in, or Rock Slide.

I could also I guess go with Debris?

Mystique, is one. I'd also roll with Ronan if you wanna go with the 'fill the opponent's deck with junk and make it hard for them to play' route.

Honestly, Darkhawk and Ronan decks are godlike. Oh, and Onslaught could help. Moon Girl.

But without Rockslide and Ronan, it's harder to run the deck tbh.

Darkhawk is buffed by your opponents having a full hand? Force your opponent to pull a card they either won't play or can only play on turn 6?

He is buffed by cards in the deck, mordo removes a card from their deck. Unless I'm misunderstanding the writing on Darkhawk.

Cerebro, Bast, Valkyrie is a good combo. Throw in Onslaught, Mystique, Cosmo, Armor, Iron Heart, and Absorbing Man too.

this game any good? i was a hearthstone grinder for years (im in fact a legend over on the HS board) and interested in checking out brode's new game

my biggest questions are if the game has any competitive depth and if it's possible to have tier 1 decks ftp. For reference in HS it took me around 4 months from a brand new account to craft gagdetzan-era Pirate Warrior, but that was all f2p

I think I've heard that it takes about 4-6 months of ftp to aquire all the pool 3 cards, which by that time you've probably also acquired a couple pool 4-5 cards as well, meaning you can definitely compete with anyone that plays.

With the collector token system you can target certain cards while unlocking random ones along the way. It's a pretty fair system, apart from how exceedingly rare the series 5 cards are.

I'm (mostly) f2p. I spend money on the season passes, and the Cap starter pack (I wanted the variant).

F2P seems easy enough. There nothing blocking you from getting all the cards, most money spent is for cosmetics and there's a system in place to help you get what you want; although it does take luck to get what you want to appear. I still have 5 cards I haven't seen show up yet, but I have most of the ones I want.

I'd say go for it, just be prepared to build different types of decks as you get new cards.

It has the simplicity of Hearthstone (simple card effects, easy rules, automatic mana gain per turn, etc.) but it even further streamlines the process.

Games are only 6 turns long, and each player takes their turn simultaneously. You play cards and your opponent plays cards at the exact same time. Turns resolve after both players have hit "end turn," and the order of what happens is affected by the order in which you played your cards, but also by "Priority" (which you can see before the turn by noticing a glowing border around one player or the other's name card)

Other than that, it's very simple and straightforward with small decks (12 cards) and several entertaining archetypes to mess around with.

I highly recommend it. Games are quick and fun, and the concept just works very well altogether.

The default game mode is a ranked ladder. Part of the strategy is actually knowing when to retreat. Your rank is determined by your "cubes," and each game allows you to "Snap" one time to double the number of cubes at stake on the next turn. Your opponent can also snap once at any time, as well, making the final result of the game worth 8 cubes by the last turn.

So a game can be worth anywhere from 1 to 8 cubes. If you retreat before the snap takes effect, you can give up just one or two cubes instead of risking 4 or 8. Each rank is 10 cubes, and every 10 ranks up to 100 gets you a reward during the season (sometimes credits, sometimes a card back, variant, etc.)

I don't think there is a major competitive scene. At least not yet. The game is still pretty young, and they just added a mode to duel friends last month.

Really enjoying Nimrod. Has proven clutch a few times in just completely shifting my focus from one spot to another. And when I can chain activate his effect, it's great.

Just found out about an interesting interaction with Baron Mordo.

Apparently if you're running Death and someone plays Mordo...yeah, her cost goes down to 6 instead of 9. Someone played Mordo and I straight up was able to bring out Death much earlier than anticipated and scored a win because of it.

Yeah, he's...an interesting card. He kind of does what Yondu does, except worse, because they both shrink the opponent's deck (which has a chance of being good or bad depending on which card goes), but Yondu makes the card unplayable at least.

Mordo has like an 80% chance of making the card worse, but also like a 20% chance of making it the same or better (drawing a 6-cost card just gives your opponent free card draw, or like the Death example it's literally improving their performance overall)

Most people don't run Mordo for that reason, but certain deck types might like it for the memes.

I feel like Yondu could work really good for Knull for that reason. If you destroy a, let's say, Ultron, that's 8 power ASAP. That's pretty damn strong.

Yeah Yondu is only good in a Death or Knull deck. People who play card games know to think of Yondu's effect is actually: destroy a card you werent going to draw anyways, since there is a huge lack in card draw in this game.

My second Knull game

Playing your entire game around stalling/disrupting the opponent is not going to get you wins unless you get extremely lucky/the opponent gets a bad hand/locations. 2 of his turns were spent just blocking me, and even with Limbo(he tried to play Doc Ock for some reason too, made no sense) he didn't get to use a good amount of the cards he had simply because he spent 2 of his turns trying to limit me. Bleh.

Lmao this was fun, I had two 0-cost Deaths and Zola costing 4 due to Wave. Put down Death, Zola and Death in the middle. Didnt have the chance to finish with Knull as he retreated.

Wave is great with Death, basically lowers her cost to 0 if you got a minimum of four kills lol.

Double Knull.

I've never felt the need for Wave in my Deadpool/Death Deck. I usually have her at 0 to 4 cost without Wave.

Feel like Wave is too beneficial for the opponent in most cases.

I feel like Rogue is a dead card typically as I rarely ever use her (only to counter Wong, but that is a 50/50 shot) so it feels like a dead card. With the card generation I have it even feels like Moon Girl is a dead card often.
