As for the first post, I had forgotten I'd posted it but now that there's some people asking questions it's kinda cool :) As for questions - Yeah, Another World was a big influence. We wanted that smoothness of frame rate and motion realism. We didn't really get there with the limited frames we finally went with but it was kind of evocative. Other inspiration included Prince of Persia - and Karateka, re: the motion smoothness. I was a big fan of Dan Gorlin back in the day. He interviewed at Mindscape when I was there but none of my fellow artists knew who he was. Did I play the game - back then, yeah. We had to beta test our own stuff back then. Honestly, I didn't enjoy playing it because I thought that on top of being difficult the collision and the dynamics of how Lester interacted with stuff was frustrating, especially at first. It was probably chosen by the prez/owner of the company at the time, he had his hands in most of the stuff we made back then. Feels like I'm 84 sometimes. It's weird thinking back of those days because at the time it felt so new and amazing, now it's 'old history'.
