match 2 the only one thats even remotely easy lmfaooooo, match 1 is very clear but very fucked because i love both songs a lot lot lot lot

match 3..... where the fuck do i even begin with it??? undersea palace is probably the single coolest song in the entire ct soundtrack and every time i listen to it is such a treat, the combination of mitsuda WORLD and technology that is very threatening... so good. to each justice though is just a through and through masterpiece in Finalbossology straight from the getgo with one of the best intros to a song that i can think of lol. i have to give it to eo3 here these songs are pretty much equal but listening to each justice gave me a bigger sense of "god yeah this is why i love this song" than undersea palace did atm. yep

all in all very good grand finals i was worried there for the past 40 days or so

Too bad match 3 didn't have Sunlight on the Water as was the original link. I might've actually considered voting EO3 for once if that was the song up instead. Also pretty funny both osts rolled their respective 1 seeds in match 1 lol

Funny how VGMC and BOST both ended up with retro-sounding finalists. Anyway, solid match between our 3 and 4 seeds - I'm amazed that neither Shovel Knight nor XCX made it here!

I love End of the Raging Waves, but not quite as much as the EO5 version. I also get the feeling that if I discovered the EO3 version today (without having heard any other versions), I wouldn't think it's that great. That's because my tastes have changed since discovering the EO3+EO5 versions... I mean, I'm sure you guys know how if you love a song for a long time, then your tastes shift against that kind of music, you often still love that song, anyway. Corridors of Time used to be my favorite CT track, but now it's likely not in my top ten from it. It's still great, though! (it's so magically evocative!) But the other is so dang epic.

Secret of the Forest has blossomed for me as of late. I'm very happy it retired. All of it is great, but it's the piano at the end that always gets me! Vengeful God has a fantastic atmosphere (plus the FM sound is really "cool"), but it doesn't take you very many places, so I get board kind of quickly. But okay, there a a cool chord change that I can't ignore (I love the chromatic shift between the chord at 0:09 and the chord at 0:13). But it goes through the same four chords the ENTIRE loop, which causes me to get bored with it. I feel like it has wasted potential.

My favorite CT track keeps changing, from Corridors of Time to Boss Battle 1 to Tyrano's Lair, but this one is my current favorite... maybe? I sure love the foreboding atmosphere... I may like Tyrano's Lair more still, though. Their Own Brand of Justice is apparently another battle theme that I didn't know about until this contest (I don't think). Maybe it's objectively no worse than End of the Raging Waves, but because my tastes are not what they used to be, this one gets the shaft, unfortunately. But this has no powerful surprise chord change at the climactic moment like End of the Raging Waves does...

Solid EO3 picks throughout. CT pulled my two least fav songs in match 1 and 2 so those were easy, match 3 was tough though.

Kinda feel bad about voting for CT for all the matches considering I do consider it to be a super overrated soundtrack, but EO3 is one of those sets that I didn't like at all. If it'd been either of the other semifinalists here (BR or RO2), I definitely would've been more inclined to vote for those.

match 1 is easy, as i touched upon yesterday. corridors is an all timer to me, raging waves meanwhile is remarkably passable.

match 2 was difficult as i predicted! fellow match 2 agonisers rise up??? secret is very "me" in that i love the enchanted - yet not saccharine - lush forest vibes. vengeful god is also "me" in that it has a sense of pervading dread and tenseness. the fm sound feels like it was used specifically for this track to me.

oh wow cool more dread/dungeon vibes!!! palace gives off similar vibes, and i have said before that it is also an all timer ... with an opponent that is solid, but not remarkable to me, just like match 1.

Match 1 and 2 feel clear-cut to me. Yuzo Koshiro is one of the GOATs though - 37 years of VGM, and bangers all around! Will be happy with whomever wins this.

I don't immediately think Undersea Palace is top 10 worthy or wherever others have been ranking it, but it's still solid like the rest of the set has been (for the most part). The Super Arrange for Sunlight on the Water and Vengeful God are easily the best that the EO3 set has offered.
