I don't follow Harry Potter at all. So I don't know if it BS or not, so I am really asking. I know as an outsider someone who was never into the IP. There are like a ton of problematic themes with in it.

I haven't actually played it, but it looks like goblins rebelling is part of the story. Goblins aren't slaves in HP, but they are discriminated against.

I remember asking question about them before. Like Harry Brained Washed a Goblin just doing this job and it ended up getting killed. And they didn't care. Yeah that is kind of irked up.

The weirdest subtext in the Harry Potter novels is "goblins have historically been discriminated against and treated like vermin but they deserve it".

But no, they're not slaves. They're the closest thing to an "equal" race on par with wizards, but are still considered second class, as a consequence of wars between the two.

That was Dobby, IIRC the goblin they're talking about was one that they made help them get into Gringotts and then it got wrecked by a dragon

The goblin rebellions were actually mentioned very briefly in the books, in some of the History of Magic classes that weren't adapted into the movies.

Goblins and humans have always been at odds, due to their differing concepts of "ownership" and the fact that wizards refused to share the art of wand-making with them.

Yeah what's funny is that humans are the shittest magical race in terms of natural power

they just learned to make wands and won't share

I think people are confusing Dobby and Kreacher, who are House-Elves and are slaves. The Goblins are the bank dudes.

Griphook is the one that helps Harry and later betrays him. Voldemort kills him. They use the Imperius curse on Bogrod, who is the other bank teller, who is later killed by the dragon. The Imperious curse is one of the 3 forbidden curses and they were trying to kill Voldemort, so he was kind of collateral.

Both Bogrod and Griphook only die in the movie adaptation anyway. Harry isn't responsible for killing any goblins in the book.

They have been running the banks for hundreds of years because wizards are bad with money. Even after some dozen revolts, the wizards still lets them run the banks.
Does that sound like slaves?
