Goldeneye was the game that got me into multiplayer FPS. I'd love for a port/remaster with updated dual stick controls and online support.

A large chunk of those games use the 360 emulator for Xbox. Unless that makes its way to PC I doubt that's gonna happen.

Never had a problem with the controls in Goldeneye.

Aim-assist is super generous and compensates the limitations of the controller well. Strafing around mooks feels smooth.

The only really dated part of the standard control scheme is that "manual" aim turns every gun into sniper controls, but I love snipers so thats not a problem. Plus its fucking hilarious when you beam some moron from across the map with the pistol <_<

The Klobb is a joke weapon, I forget the story behind it, but it's named after someone on the dev team iirc

Anyways decided to do a quick run through of the Dam and Facility. Thing I'm finding is that while it felt super intuitive using the c buttons to strafe, using the Switch's right stick in place of them is messing with my mind since I'm so used to using the analog as a camera in modern games. Really wish the N64 app let you change controls. Fucking Nintendo, every fucking emulator on the planet except yours allows button reassignment, unless I'm missing something <_<

Id really like to play it again but afraid it would ruin the nostalgic memories

You can adjust the controls in the options in game but idk if any of the settings can help

If it is just a HD remake like the perfect dark for 360 I don't really care to play it that badly. Most 64 games aged piss poorly gameplay wise.

The actual remake game on the PS3 and 360 by Activision on the CoD engine is pretty good though.

Funnily enough, I have two Goldeneye cartridges. Back in 1999 or something, my sister and my cousin decided to draw all over my copy of the game. They gave Bond clown ears, eyes, noses etc. Being barely into double digits myself, I wasn't happy but soon forgot about it.

Many years later, after my first N64 had been given to charity by my parents after I'd moved out, my sister presented me with another N64 and a non-drawn on copy of Goldeneye. My parents recognised that "Nintendo Mega Drive" and went hunting in their loft, and found a small box of stuff they didn't know about. My blue controller, a rumble pak, and my sister's artistic Goldeneye cartridge were in it.

That N64 is still connected now. I don't play it often but every now and then I see the Goldeneye and DK64 cartridges in my DVD cabinet (yeah, I'm old) and laugh at the history.

Also, I've used the theme from Runway as an alarm for many years. It's still my alarm tone to this day.

Please post pics of clown cartridge if you can. Now that Im old I love seeing that old cartridge grafitti. Its like...proof that it used to belong to somebody and has memories attached to it. >_>

Finally finding my groove with the switch controller. Stick strafing isn't as snappy as button presses but im able to move pretty smoothly now.

Just beat the boat level and Im having a blast. Game honestly still holds up imo. Helps that enemies get stun locked to hell if you just burst fire instead of holding the trigger lol

Regular emulator : Just change the controls for the game.

Official Nintendo emulator : Change the controls for everything so you have to change them back when you are not playing Goldeneye.

There is controller profiles so it isn't *too* bad >_> Xbox version literally doesn't have to go through with this. It has modern controls by default

When through the 1st row of levels on Agents and it's still pretty fun. My only complaint is the joy con stick isnt very precise with aiming unlike the OG N64 controller

The 2nd Surface song just came on my ipod and it reminded me how funny it is that Bond goes to Severnaya twice in the game but never goes at all in the movie

Managed to beat the game on agent, then went ahead and unlocked the paintball and Gold pp7 cheats (cleared that one by one second lol)

Now going through the game on 00 Agent (which Ive never done before <_<) and holy shit they are really stingy with the ammo on this setting.

All this just so I can unlock the double RCP 90 cheat so I can make the entire game my bitch

I never unlocked Double RCP-90s but I did unlock All Guns lol

Also, is the Invincibility cheat still ridiculously difficult, Facility on 00 Agent in like 1m40 or something?
