Trying to watch every season. Im 2 episodes away from finishing the first season of MMPR. The soundtrack, noises, storylines, everything is so corny lol. I think the actual quality got really good in Space

I remember watching some of it a few years ago when Twitch had a stream. Honestly, it was fucking hilarious in a so bad its good way. Also, the casual merging of a Japanese show and a stereotypical American show is very interesting in hindsight.

Its weird but online the season that people say is the best is the season where they literally got rid of the last vestiges of the original cast

Learn to enjoy it ironically or face only despair.

I think the music is actually fantastic, the martial arts are still really cool to watch and I personally love the creature/character designs.

But yes the acting is often pretty poor (though some of the main cast really improve as time goes on) and the plots are just rarely interesting (which is why I think Green With Envy was/is so popular, it had some themes to sink your teeth into).

Even for a show aimed at a really young demographic, it's still incredibly basic development/theme wise which makes it so hard to watch these days despite a lot of cartoons from around then holding up fine.

In Space really was a game changer. I had considered myself thouroughly too old for Power Rangers, but then In Space hit and holy shit suddenly it was actually cool. (Especially the Psycho Rangers lol)

Anything earlier than that is rough, but I do like the backend of season 1 and the beginning of season 2 (while they're using the new Toei-comissioned footage). As a kid my favorite episode was the one with the oyster monster, lol.

Not going to lie, it's basically the only part that aged well other than maybe the Lord Zedd costume design being pretty freaky.

I always laughed how they would be at that restaurant/after school hangout place. Their watch would beep then they would walk like 4 feet to the side and talk into their watch. Sometimes then they would scream "ITS MORPHIN TIME" and morph right there. This does not detract from the show in my opinion, but it always made me laugh. I decided if I was going to watch a series on the zords. If the megazord looked dumb, then I passed on it. Some of the later seasons had dumb looking megazords.

They went all out with Season 2. Lord Zedd's costume is really well done and Season 2's first episode aired on PRIME TIME TV (which was a huge deal in the pre-Internet days). Also, Zedd was apparently "too scary" and a bunch of parents complained which eventually turned him into Lord "Al Bundy" Zedd (which was a great move in hindsight. A villain can't really be seen as scary if they keep losing to the Power Rangers almost every episode)

Try doing it with a friend and some alcohol. It's fun
