There will be a spin off game focused on an older Atreus as he goes to find the giants. One of the key plot points here is that he will attempt to find the missing piece of Brok's soul to restore it, and therefore give him a chance at an afterlife. Mostly out of guilt, but this will be his way to repair things with Sindri.

There might be a prequel for Kratos, where we find out how tf he ended up in Norse mythology after ending the pantheon. Maybe it's time for egypt or something.

Would much prefer Kratos and Freya bang and decide to go to Egypt to kill more gods because reasons, plot and good writing be damned.

I know but Kratos is done. All the angst has been resolved now, you can tell he's not going to be a bad enough dude to make for a compelling hero anymore.

Yeah, that's how I was thinking it would go as well. It does feel like it's branching off into two separate franchises. I don't see Kratos' part being a prequel though

Yeah. I mean I don't really see how they could make it compelling, because all the atreus sections of GOWR were boring...because it wasn't kratos.

He's one dead son away from a comeback. Just look at John Wick as a template for how it could go down.

To be honest after the growth Kratos went through and how he doesn't seem to want to fight gods anymore, the only way they can continue the series and keep the writing intact is if they shift it to Atreus and I'm not sure how people would accept that.

A lot of Ragnarok, and the norse saga in general, would be ruined if they made Kratos murder another pantheon.

But really, when has that ever stopped a company if there's money on the table?

as far as the Egypt thing goes, Kratos apparently passed through there before ending up in Midgard, and there's a comic book series detailing that.

maybe we'll see flashbacks?

I was kind of hoping Heimdalls and Broks deaths were putting Kratos back on the path of rage, but Im pretty sure the point of the plot was he was going to die if he went that route and subverted fate by changing. Idk the ending was too happy for me.

Wouldve been funnier if the path where Kratos died relied on him being merciful and he goes apeshit and brutally kills Odin which subverts his fate.

Only place the series can go now is shift to Atreus or kill him off, which would be the worst choice imo.

I suppose he could be kidnapped or piss someone off,dragging Kratos in reluctantly.
