It's actually kind of crazy at this point how many of the non-FF-related games they've publish in the last couple years have just ended up being straight-up not good.

They keep trying to release live service and crypto trash. The only good live service game they have is FF14. But ironically thats the game supporting the company right now. Maybe Yoshi-p will release a good FF16

I wish they would make an Einhander 2 or a remake of the original.

Square Enix is basically just "that company that makes FF14 and a bunch of garbage"

most of the modern FF games have been bad too, they just have a fanbase that eats up everything with the label

The Quiet Man is an underrated gem

I'll go out on a limb and say Forspoken will at least be better than launch KH3.

Star Ocean 6 was pretty great. I also really enjoyed Valkyrie Elysium

If the claims of it dropping down to 720p in performance mode on PS5 and still not even being able to maintain 60 fps are accurate I don't think you can claim that >_>

They seem more protective over that one. It makes sense considering it was Enix who bought Square, not the other way around.

given how mediocre XI was I'm kinda worried. but they said the next game might change some things up which honestly im in favor of at this point

dont think square has much say over creative decisions for that series tho. it's kind of sacred in japan

Tactics Ogre: Reborn is the exception at this point, and DQ11 is a 4-5 year old game.

it's amazing, not to the level of the original for me, but really close to it where I'd have no issue with someone preferring it

the FFXV gacha which was Travian/Clash of Clans with FFXV skin made more money than the actual FFXV itself

They said they wanted action and changes to the next game. That worries the shit out of me. I dont want change. I am not playing DQ for change. I am playing DQ for DQ. Not for some stupid edgy action rpg.

Kinda weird how Square Enix (the name) was the best thing to come out of the acquisition. Like damn that's a good ass name and you didn't even have to try.

As someone who literally bought the original PSX game brand new when it came out, and has been playing it since -- I hate this opinion. Reborn is actually good. The psp remake wasn't, though.

....still waiting on Terranigma remastered. They do well with the 2.5D games, they just don't have a fucking clue what they are doing with Final Fantasy, and its a damn shame. I wish they would sell the rights of the main franchise to a company that can do something with it.

I was gonna buy that game when it came out, I loved the trailer. But then it was a free to play battlepass game with premium currency, a game built on the back of recurring purchases and grinding. The UI sucked, the menus were cluttered, it screamed "spend, spend, spend!!!".

And apparently? The actual gameplay was pretty good. It's just that everything around the gameplay was fucking terrible.

I would have outright bought it if it had launched with a $50 pricetag, no microtransactions, no battle pass. If they wanted to do a CTR Nitro-Fuelled with additional GPs and in-game currency, that'd be one thing. But they built a perfectly serviceable video game that I wanted, and then surrounded it with mobile game elements. It feels like they built a console game, and then built the shell of a mobile game around it after the fact.

The Tomb Raider trilogy was utterly brilliant but apart from that I have never had any interest in any of their games.

I tried Final Fantasy 7 once and thought it was one of the worst games I had ever played in my life.

I have no idea what else they make as I pay little attention to them.

Oh yeah for sure. World of Final Fantasy is a 10/10 port, and it's a really funny and enjoyable RPG experience. Might be the only monster-raising RPG I've enjoyed outside of Pokemon.

Diofield Chronicle feels like it was completely forgotten the same day it was released. I don't think I've ever seen anybody discuss it as a good game, a bad game, or even a game at all. Even in this topic I'm the first one to mention it after 50 posts.
