Not including a visible counter is just pointlessly cruel.

I usually enjoy this mission was great for leveling materia

I feel like you're sure to max your materia loadout long before it ends, though. And you have to finish it to keep the progress.

I found it fun!

Once you're at the point where you can beat the hardest missions it gets ridiculous easy, so if you fear losing and this having wasted time, just save it. But yeah it sucks.

I mean not to imply it isn't easy and that it's tedious and unless you're mentally counting up the packs as you wipe them (...times 100) then yeah...

The best way for leveling materia is just going AFK in 1-1-1 because you'll level when getting limits (don't have to use them). If you have one of the auto healing accessories available, you can go AFK forever, it heals quicker than they damage, but you don't have to be that high leveled before it's basically forever too. Good way og getting most DMW stuff too for which the reward is very attractive.

Yeah I mean I was killing them about as fast as they spawned, but even if it's only 20 minutes that's still too long for what it is.

Thanks to this post it got me wondering why I never did this, so I started a "no missions (except the one they force you to do)" playthrough earlier.

Through chapter 6 now and not feeling as grind-y as I expected but I am already dreading the chapter 8 boss being a brick wall...

(not to mention the item materia fusions being locked behind a mission too, not to mention two more accessories... think I'll be feeling all that come those later chapters)
