One of these days I'm going to play through the main quest without doing all the side missions first, so that the final few main quest chapters don't feel like this:

Thanks to this post it got me wondering why I never did this, so I started a "no missions (except the one they force you to do)" playthrough earlier.

Through chapter 6 now and not feeling as grind-y as I expected but I am already dreading the chapter 8 boss being a brick wall...

(not to mention the item materia fusions being locked behind a mission too, not to mention two more accessories... think I'll be feeling all that come those later chapters)
