My copy of Engage hasn't arrived yet, but it sounds promising. From what I hear, it's more like the good FE battle systems rather than the terrible, boring Echoes and Three Houses systems.

I am playing engage but the art still makes me gag.

I really liked 3 Houses. Awakening was novel and Fates was eh.

Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn are my favorites for both art and story.

It is. In terms of the core strategy gameplay, it's a return to form and the most fun I've had with Fire Emblem since the Tellius games.

Eh? Kinda? I have mixed feelings. Granted, I havent played Engage yet because I want to finish my current game first. So I will base it on the rest of the series. I hated the monastery at first but it grew on me. However, it became very tedious after one playthrough. The games would add depth in combat in some ways and take it away in others. I just feel like if you could combine some aspects of the old games with some of the new then you would have a great FE game.

I know people dislike the Waifu thing but I dont really mind it. As long as it is complemented with a great battle system then its fine. Especially if there is a good story that goes along with it.

I dont know. Its just hard for me to really know how I feel about the direction its going.

The only one I've played is the GBA one I got free for buying a 3DS during scambassador week.
Didn't bother with it for very long.

It was already getting bad but they decided to go all in

It's still fun, but this is the first game I've ever turned the voices off in because I can't make myself give a shit

This might sound weird but I think its fine as long as the romance is between 2 young teens. The games are rated T so they are targeting young people. It gets crazy when you go beyond that. No way some grown adult should be getting with some 14 year old. I love Fire Emblem but I cant pretend that isnt a thing

Ive always disliked the avatar characters. They just dont feel like real characters to me. But they are the vehicle to making sure the fans can have their waifus and husbandos.

I don't really know, All I know is I find female Alear and Veyle cute and their smiles must be protected at all costs,.

Have never played a Fire Emblem game and doubt thats going to change.

I would prefer we get something akin to the GBA games. Engage kinda does that, so I'm not too bothered with it, but I also kind of think Three Houses was a better game, even if Engage is a better Fire Emblem game.

Three Houses did a lot of quirky shit for an FE game, but in that exact "gaiden" chapter of the franchise they worked quite well.

After playing the story, Altear's red and blue hair really fits them and it even comes with the mysterious secret of only getting bedhead on the blue side.

Glory to the toothpaste through it probably only works for me because of how long that hair is, I don't like it on the male at all

My first honest shot at a FE game was Awakening so I don't know no better. I've been having fun with them since though. I did skip out of the other 3DS ones tho.

I tried playing the old ones when I was a sneaky kid doing sneaky things but I could never figure them out. I should go back and play them tho.

I got into the series with Sacred Stones thanks to the ambassdor program never finished the game because I lost the DS back then, then bought Awakening, ignored Fates and Three houses because Corrin looked stupid and Three Houses was full of people tearing each other apart over the routes and the decisions the lords make. I definitely didn't bother with Three Hopes due to that, Enage is cheesy as fuck and the designs controversal as hell since lord characters are typically Red haired or Blue haired with no exceptions then comes Altear rocking both for a very story related reason

Three Houses is great and has a great story compared to Engage. Gameplay in Engage is more engaging though

I'm sure it is but I just can't get behind any of the stuff I've heard about the three lords who are the faces of the game,
