It's more self-centered (ie: check out these pics I took, here's what I think, this is what I'm eating for lunch, etc.). Internet forums are just anonymous people posting random topics and chatting about it. No one knows each other except by users names and there's nothing really to gain from being noticed. Forums are really only to talk about topics and fuck around.
