Trump refused to give the documents back until government agents raided his home and took them. Then he's been suing in an attempt to slow down the investigation ever since.

Biden found the documents on his own, gave them back, and has been cooperating every single step of the way.

Instead, they focused on the fact that Trump had documents in the first place. Which in turn came back to bite them in the ass when Biden did the same thing.

So, they clutched their pearls. Then, when their party did the same, they had to do a late shift in the game, change the reason they were clutching their pearls, and present it as a difference so that they could try and come off as objective.

Unfortunately for them, it didnt work, many saw it and rightly called out the hypocrisy.

1924. Unauthorized removal and retention of classified documents or material
(a) Whoever, being an officer, employee, contractor, or consultant of the United States, and, by virtue of his office, employment, position, or contract, becomes possessed of documents or materials containing classified information of the United States, knowingly removes such documents or materials without authority and with the intent to retain such documents or materials at an unauthorized location shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for not more than one year, or both.
(b) For purposes of this section, the provision of documents and materials to the Congress shall not constitute an offense under subsection (a).
(c) In this section, the term classified information of the United States means information originated, owned, or possessed by the United States Government concerning the national defense or foreign relations of the United States that has been determined pursuant to law or Executive order to require protection against unauthorized disclosure in the interests of national security.
