Was feeling so damn tired and decided to pop a 200mg pill real quick and I now feel perfectly rested and alert. That was five minutes ago.

How the hell are these things only like $3 for a bottle of 100 pills, this feels illegal

I wonder if this would work on a coffee fiend such as myself

they just made me dizzy when I tried them so I stopped. They worked, but I was always dizzy.

that just happened to me too, except i didn't have a caffeine pill, i had a cup of sun brewed green tea

Caffeine pills are only "dangerous" to people who aren't dosing what they're taking and end up eating a whole bunch. A single pill isn't going to be much stronger than a strong cup of coffee, and it has no additional side effects beyond what caffeine already does.

If someone wasn't a regular caffeine drinker I might recommend they start with half a dose so that they don't get the jitters, but otherwise the only real risk from concentrated caffeine like that is diarrhea and dehydration.

Isnt the daily recommended dose around 400 mg? So you shouldnt do more than 2 per day. Also preferably no later than afternoon or so since youll still have some of that caffeine flowing in your bloodstream by then.

Right, that's kind of what I mean by dosing. You need to be conscious of how much caffeine you're taking in and how long it's been since you last took in caffeine to make sure you spread it out.

You can actually find caffeine pills that are time release so that, rather than getting an initial jolt, it spreads it out over 30 or 40 minutes of digestion. That can help for some people who need that boost but can't handle it all at once.

Because the effect diminishes once you realize it's actually just a placebo

Its a double edged sword. Sure it keeps you up but it can mess with your sleep, eating among other things. Not to mention caffeine headaches are a real thing.

It's definitely not a fucking placebo lmao. Take a couple of 200 mg pills and tell me what you feel is all in your head.

I use caffeine pills that also have L-Theanine in them which is supposed to have a calming effect to counteract the negative side effects of caffeine. Plus I drink a lot of chamomile tea

I usually take one when I wake up (7ish) and another around noon. Didnt take one at all today til right before making this topic.

200mg is the equivalent of a double shot of espresso.

and a 5 hour energy (regular, extra strength has double) has roughly that same amount. IIRC 100mg of caffeine also has a half-life of roughly 5 hours (thus the name), which is also useful for tracking intake.

I might have to try that. I like energy drinks, but they cost a lot of money now and I have to get the sugar free version.

Hey @AceAttorneyist what brand of those caffeine/L-Theanine pills do you get? Always had trouble with anxiety using caffeine pills so I wanna try these out and see if that added L-Theanine helps me.

Think there's 250 or 300mg pills you can get on Amazon too

Coffee and tea just before bed never really affects me sleeping. Nor does 2 - 3 cups of coffee ever made me feel any different during the day.

I wonder if these pills would have any effect on me.

Smarter Vitamins. They're more expensive than normal caffeine pills but I feel they're worth it. I used to take normal caffeine pills and felt the need to split them up to avoid taking too much. That's not possible with these but I haven't wished I could either. I usually end up taking two throughout the day.

I prefer drinking my caffeine.

They're only dangerous if you abuse them, folks. Taken as directed on the box you literally get the stimulation of drinking a cup of coffee or two.
