Original timeline, I doubt they gave much of a damn about him, at least enough to actively stop him. New time line seem more trusting of their kids to make good judgement calls. I also don't doubt Doc made an effort to not screw up a relationship with Marty to keep the timeline going. --- I'm not saying that less toxic gaming journalists would lead to less toxic gamers.
