That Bank of America card is top-tier if you can get to the second or third tier of the rewards program. I moved my IRA to Merrill just for that reason.

They have another one that gives a flat 1.5% on everything, and with the booster you can get to 2.25 or 2.625 which is peerless

Discount brokerages usually charge fees to close an account, not open onethey want few barrier to opening an acount. I don't remember any fees but I could be wrong. My old brokerage charged me when I left.

Also, if you're used to something like Fidelity or Schwab where you have access to cheap proprietary index funds, Merrill Edge will take some getting used to. They don't have anything like that, and I had to switch to ETF investing.

that won't work i also just remembered that it is waived as well because we have an account with the bank that offers the card that has $1000 in it

you need to have an account, have a grand in it, and then also get approval based on a credit score

i dunno, it's waived

our credit cards likely give us $500 to $1000 a year
