UF8 01/07/23 11:26:35 PM #8:	Nihil Redux Termination of Desires Gensokyo Millenium ~ History of the Moon Hoist the Sword is alright but gets a bit repetitive a bit too quickly. Nihil Descent is possibly the best flashy song but I don't entirely get the direction taken with the redux version (or the omega variation for that matter). For now that isn't necessarily a bad thing though, but once the surprise factor finally wears off, maybe it will be... Neither clearly didn't have my favourites of their respective sets this round. The Genshin song's completely vanilla trap elements make it a very bold pick, especially given the length doesn't really grant enough time to pay it off well enough to say I really liked it, but the same applies to Burning Sunlight tbh Flying Fortress is a fairly simple but interesting song with some fun elements. Unfortunately the simple side is what holds it back, since it needed to be really solid to compete with Eirin. I haven't actually said anything about Touhou 8 yet I think but I'm of the admittedly mainstream opinion that it has easily the most (in volume) iconic songs of any game in the series, and justifiably so. I know it's probably weird for me to say this as somebody who deeply wants people to stop bringing RftM back as a recurring joke but I'd love to see songs like this make it back into VGMC again. Would be nice to see Maiden's Capriccio, Ghostly Eyes, Mooned Insect, Voyage 1969 or Plain Asia too since they haven't even been in yet. Heck, the first two songs in this set (and again Maiden's Capriccio and Voyage 1969) haven't been in either. Putting it simply, it's a legendary soundtrack and I'm glad that it got a set in in some manner that showcases much of the parts that haven't gotten as much focus in our community for whatever reason. <cite>UF8 posted [p:970696221] in [BOST6] Be... Nihil Redux is probably my favorite flashygoodness song I've heard so far, but still nothing special. Decent production and synths. Burning Sunlight is really beautiful, but it ends way too quickly. Great violin. Termination of Desires has an interesting combo of the eastern orchestral elements with western electronic elements. I like the combination quite a bit. Good song. The Flying Fortress is a Revo song for sure. Not my favorite from BD2, but it gets the job done. I do like the piano part in this in particular. And uh, Gensokyo Millennium has good piano I guess? Pretty meh day tbh, but there were some highlights.
