They don't want the IRS to be funded because their masters don't want their finances combed through.

Well, there are a lot of people like waitresses who don't properly report taxes. We've had discussions where they benefit from not being made minimum wage and living in a murky water of sorts. I can only assume you want to crack down on this behavior, what with enforcing the tax code, and what not.

Problem is you're being deliberately obtuse. The necessity for more IRS agents does not stem from taxpayers at the bottom of the totem pole. Any such audit is simple and straightforward. The need for more agents is entirely based on the complexities and absurd legal devices that permit opaque movement and manipulation of wealth by those taxpayers at the top of the totem pole.

There is nothing wrong with trying to suss out how much money someone needs to make before we "stop enforcing tax law on them". It should be a simple question, and you should be prepared to call out lawmakers if they break their promises and DO go after the waitresses. Somehow though, I think a lot of our supporters of the 37k here are unwilling to do that. hmm, I wonder why?

A reasonable counter argument is that the law should be more simple, don't you think? Also, is this 37k not for checking the bank accounts of the regular people?

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/irs-bank-account-update-change-treasury-10000-dollars/

In this article I linked, you can see that the plan from this administration and from the IRS was to audit any bank account with inflow or outflow of over 600 usd. I don't know about you, but I have a deposit made into my account every week that is over 600 usd from my employer, and I make a rent payment totalling 1300 usd (roughly) every month. Transactions like this are what they want to track, and I'm rather sure I'm not jumping through any complex hoops and dodging taxes. Why would they want to watch me?

What is there to be flustered about? Anyone who has said anything of substance in this topic is either somewhat agreeing with me or has made a single post and failed to return. You are the only one who appears to be trolling.

Direct question, do you disagree that in May of 2021, the administration proposed auditing any bank account transaction of $600 or more?

Follow up, do you agree that some poor and middle class would ultimately be harmed by such a rule?

Follow up, do you agree that in all likelihood, rich people will still somehow avoid paying taxes?

I mean that, objectively, this administration DID want to put into place auditing that I've described in this topic. That's all I meant by objective. Like, it's factual, they've gone on the record.

If you fail to acknowledge this, you aren't being objective.
