Or somethings fucked with my hearing anyway

If Im trying to have a conversation in a noisy place the background noise takes priority over the people Im talking to.

Curse you, years of listening to loud music

Approaching middle age, can confirm listening to grunge and metal via earphones for 20+ years on top of going to and participating in track days will do that to you.

Don't be proud, go get yourself checked. I have a fear of hearing issues. I never was into loud music or any of that, but I've spent the last 12 years with a headset on for work. I haven't noticed anything but have that fear of consequences.

My stepfather has hearing issues after being in the airforce doing linguistics with headsets on for a long time. He's too damn proud to admit the problem though.

I have an appointment with my primary doctor next month to check on how my anxiety meds are working and plan to bring it up then

edit: looked it up and apparently antidepressants can have slight hearing loss as a side effect so maybe thats whats causing it since the anxiety meds Im on are also antidepressants

I planned on asking to wean myself off, they work great for keeping my anxiety down and helped a lot with the depression Ive had since my daughter passed but they also took away basically every emotion lol

I started noticing my hearing getting pretty awful when I hit 30, too. I've always had an aversion to loudness so I figured my hearing would be great my whole life, but... nope. Unless it's a quiet place with the person speaking directly to me I'll probably not hear them.
