They talk to fill in details of the story, or to fill time when you're using the transports in the large hubs where you're expected to have some downtime. They stop talking when you get off said transports. You prefer to just run around in dead silence? I found it all quite enjoyable.

Dunno how you expect to figure out the puzzles if not for one of the side characters giving you the solution before you even realize there's a puzzle

People also want loading screens instead of panning shots and squeezing through crevices. Gamers are an odd bunch

Mimir is great, and his commentary is welcome...except during combat and puzzles.

when I do a puzzle in a game, even a difficult/tricky one, I like to attempt it on my own first, and I sometimes feel accomplished when I solve it. however, if your AI companions are suggesting solutions almost immediately, it takes away from that.

for the combat, it's self-explanatory - I already know Kratos is on fire.

It's also weird because for most of the game, there's fuck-all you can do about it. I only recall two pieces of gear that actually let you get rid of it and they're fairly late-game.

Yeah.....it's really bad. The low oxygen was what really got me. The video doesn't make it clear, but it plays one of those two voice lines every single time you get low.

Idk its driving me nuts. The devs make this beautiful game with a very intricate world but they have to fill every second with nonstop dialogue, its like theyre afraid to just let you experience stuff yourself

Its a Sony conveyor belt production. Part of the experience.

I got a glitch where Atreus kept repeating one of his hints to clear a puzzle ("Try aiming through that crack in the wall" or something) every dozen or so seconds.

And it kept cutting over other dialogue and even went into the next main cutscene, so a character started to say something important but then got cut off by "Try aiming through that crack in the wall." Had to restart from a previous autosave to fix things and see what actually happened in that scene.
