Drinking always gives you a hangover but Vodka doesn't tear up your gut like everything else does.

In my experience it's the quality level that does it. For instance this Kraken has been tearing up my gut but some rum a shelf higher hasn't. Same thing with vodka and bourbon imo.

Also drinking doesn't always give a hangover. The hangover comes from being dehydrated which the alcohol causes. You need to drink more water when you drink alcohol. If you do that, you can eliminate the hangovers.

I've always just liked vodka because you can mix it with literally anything and it's good. Mixing vodka with stuff doesn't really change the flavour of anything either. It just makes it alcoholic.

I guess I should drink more water after I drink. Or maybe during/towards the end. But even my hangover today wasn't too damn bad and I woke up at 8am.

And yeah ACAB it's nice mixing Vodka with OJ because then you get some Vitamin C. Coca Cola mixed with rum doesn't give you shit except diabetes. I guess there's sugar in the store bough OJ too but shit maybe I need to be squeezin my own oranges. I'm not talkin about nuts Smackems because I know you'll see this and make some smart ass comment. Although I check my oranges regularly.

Those are always the worst hangovers for me. Probably because I end up staying up a lot later and drinking more than I otherwise would have.

Yea I'm not sure how much of it is the drinking and how much is just lack of sleep since I basically stayed up till Thursday night cause I was too fucked to sleep most of the day. I think I napped for an hour or two and then just woke up too hungover for more sleep.

Oh well. Had a nap at work this morning so the day is going by fast.

Work naps are great.

I rarely eat at work, so sometimes I'll take a 30 min nap on my lunch and use my hoodie as a pillow.

Same. I'll eat if the residents are getting good food that day cause there's always extra and its free but otherwise I just have a huge dinner when works done.

Some days the food they get is just... I feel bad for them. Its like shitty sandwiches or some random crap I wouldn't feed a dog. And there's always only 2 choices.

Pro tip for anyone who ends up in a care home - don't be the horrible annoying person on the wing cause you're never getting the good option if there's not enough to go around.

So I finish work and who surprises me with a ride home? The super hot younger girl who doesn't even work there anymore.

I just ordered some "Flower" for pick up, deal seemed better than usual for my area which makes sense because of a supply and business explosion. $35 (including tax/fees) for 1/4 oz, which is better than what I got in college like 20 years ago lol, and the potency and description look good and check the boxes I want. Not quite as strong as the last few batches but they were a bit overpowering, so something a little bit less potent and significantly less expensive is ideal imo. Lower price seems to be because it's an in house brand. If I enjoy it, I have a new purchasing strategy lol, with in house and value taking precedence. Also, my city had to set a limit to how many such businesses could operate, which I approve of because we are already super-saturated and one place had to close because of too much competition lol (and the limit set is where we're at right now and as much as I like competition and lots of locations, we were turning into a clusterfuck, so this is fine).

that's typical here too and even for this specific business. I'm guessing they have this one on overstock and discounted it as such. There were a couple others in a similar range, and the mass-competition must help. I'm ecstatic to take advantage of such a deal :D

when it was first made legal here, I was mindblown because the first 2 places that opened were 1) on my bus route and 2) next door to my work (next town over). I was like "holy shit I have TWO options "

Several years later, I have a bunch all within walking distance and even more in extended distance. My go-to is literally right next door to my local liquor store that I've been regularly going to since I moved (like 10 minute walk). I even get to choose my pick up time in 15 minute increments which is nice if I feel like ordering and then heading out later. They have a card processing work-around too so they can accept card payments in spite of bank issues in the industry. Considering the demographics of the area, the industry is thriving as much or moreso than like anywhere else in the country at this time. After all, once place literally had to close because of too much competition XD, and their reviews suggested they did nothing wrong except open up too close to too many other already established locations. It makes me really happy to see that the demand was what it was to cause such a massive and quick flood of supply.

Damn I must have missed whatever you were posting about :( Didn't realize you were in that position.

Good luck. Personally I wouldn't be able to handle faith-based. I have heard that certain programs won't press that issue and will encourage good habits even when religious stuff isn't involved. Hopefully you can get what you need to get without being dragged down by anything that you don't believe in. That sounds like a tough situation and I have no idea how I would or could approach it, so stay strong, and again good luck.

Thanks. When I spoke to the dude that pointed me in that direction, he mentioned I was in a good place with no record or duis or anything or hospital visits. I already know I have it better than a lot of em, but it makes me wonder what kinda people I'll run into

As someone that was heavily into the drug scene you'll likely run into a lot of damaged people that use drugs to deal with their trauma, and it isn't even intentional. Most of them have found drugs and it fills a void they don't even realize they have. Most will likely be fairly nice down to earth people just looking to get better. There is likely going to be a few that are their against their will and they will likely be the most volatile. Either way be weary of everyone and protect your shit, as much as I hate generalizing people you can't trust a junkie no matter how nice they are.

Also I hate using junkie but used it there for making a point purposes.

I went to a detox once several years ago and the people were... mostly unpleasant. The facitility was shit though. There were some people that seemed genuinely good. I was on edge the whole time. Whenever I was in any "public" area, such as at meals, I would position myself where I had a clear view of everyone else in the room. A few people talked a little bit of shit but no one seriously fucked with me, and the ones that seemed genuinely good were friendly to me. Some of the people acted like zombies. I felt like one myself given the meds they put me on, so I leaned into that and just kinda figured if I acted like a zombie too, I'd be left alone. I was released before the full time because there was a complication with my insurance and I was medically cleared quickly. A lot of the people were acting like lunatics though. One dude was pounding on a bathroom stall and making caveman noises simply because said stall was occupied, and some of the female patients got into a little war over a male patient. I didn't get any details because I hadn't interacted with anyone involved but chairs were thrown around in a rec area, plus it happened like minutes before I was released. The people I shared a room with were mostly heroin/opioid people (they had methadone treatments) and were okay. They didn't fuck with me and were friendly, but recommended that I hoarde meds I was given to barter/sell. I was not interested in doing that. Edit based on IGCD's post: yeah, that's consistant with my experience. Some people will take advantage if they can and want to. I had a "don't show weakness" approach and I was fine. Some teenage kid was clearly rattled and like constantly using the pay phone to call his parents and crying. He probably had a much harder time but I didn't keep track of him so I don't really know. I just mostly kept to myself and only engaged with people on trivial surface levels.

On an unrelated note, for my "flower" purchase tonight, they had a promotional deal of the choice between a "pre-roll" of two different types. My choice of one or the other for only $1. It seemed asinine to say no to that, so I'll be enjoying that a bit later. Came out to $40 but with a little bit of cash in change given the payment format (which makes sense). Same fine deal if you ask me :D

That's what happened to me. A lot of bad shit happened all within a couple weeks; had a surplus of over 100 pills, and that was the easiest thing for me to get hold of, because I don't drink anymore and don't really like weed much

Yeah, they did have a "group" thing going where I was, which I guess was like an AA and NA combined thing. I went once when I was there and I was put off. I felt like since I was there in the first place, I owed it to myself to at least try it. It did nothing for me though. I was ready to give shit back too but I never had to. The worst example of anyone fucking with me ended with him laughing and being like "nah I'm just fucking with you" and me having a chuckle. Didn't run into that dude again.

But as for the actual location, as I was checking in, some chick came up to the orderly bringing me to my room complaining about mice and she was flipping the fuck out and seemed like she was on some serious shit or going through withdrawals to the point of hallucinating and dissociating. I asked the orderly about it jokingly and he ignored me. Later that night I found out that the building had rodent infestations so that woman had legitimate and literal grievances. Actual literal mice had been running loose in her room.

Giants lost.... Whatever I didn't even expect playoffs this year. They get some good picks in the draft and they're going to be a real team next year.
