I always knew I'd hate all soybeans and soy related products, but I tried a tofu burger just out of curiosity and I couldn't handle one bite, spit that shit out.

This absolutely isn't edible, if we ever do run out of beef I think I'll make the switch to crickets and other insect food over this.

Don't use fake meat / burger tofu as a reference point for tofu.

Tofu itself barely has any flavor. If you fry it till it's golden brown, then make a teriyaki sauace, and toss them in the pan with the caramelizing teriyaki, they'll come out amazingly. Eat that bitch with rice and some veggies and it will be great!

Or making a stew-like dish with marinated tofu can be really nice too.

Every burger with tofu I had has been revolting. I find it's the wrong way to use tofu.

I disagree that tofu has no flavor.
It's easy to flavor tofu to other things, but it absolutely does have a distinct flavor on its own.

But TC, what burger exactly were you eating? They don't usually sell burgers that's just tofu, so I'm curious here.

I like it. I've been getting it as a substitute for other proteins lately when I order Thai food bc it absorbs flavors and seasonings better than meat. A seasoned bite of tofu packs more flavor than the same piece of pork or beef.

Tofu is a blank canvas. Its all about the final texture and seasoning.

Also you eat it cause its healthy. Shouldnt be a big deal to sacrifice flavor every once in a while for a healthy meal

Tofu is delicious if you cook it right. Corn starch that sucker and fry it up with soy sauce.

Tofu is great. Stop eating it plain. That's like boiling chicken in water and eating it like that and saying that chicken sucks.

Tofu is amazing if seasoned right. Theres no flavor to it so its all about how its cooked.

When I was a kid I would like to snack on just tofu and shoyu :3
