they can be, but they focus on a martial arts style that wasn't too popular on film until they came out - Silat. iirc, while they're a little older, The Protector movies (from 2005) also use the same style, but they're not really gruesome. --- https://streamable.com/3ajdi3 ... Copied to Clipboard!

Shang Chi or Dynasty Warriors pretty much. Unless you're into big battle war scenes, China hasn't produced much Martial Arts films like in the 70's-early 00's.
