Having a brother 6 years older than me meant I never believed in Santa.

Turned 10 (dec bday) around when I knew.
Then watched Miracle on 34th st (inferior 94 remake) which confirmed it.

Exact age? No. I know it was longer than I probably should have, so I was likely around 11. They essentially ripped the bandaid off and told the truth about every parental white lie like the Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, etc.

I remember reeling over the betrayal and not being able to trust my parents for a while afterwards like an idiot lol.

i was probably around 8 or 9, but i honestly dont remember exactly. but i remember being unable to sleep on christmas and i heard my parents doing stuff late into the night after they thought i had gone to sleep, thought about it and just kinda went "oooooh i get it now, they're the ones that set that stuff up"

It was 1989. I went to the local community centre with my mom and dad to sit on Santa's knee. I asked for a Gameboy that Christmas. I have no idea how I even knew about them, and why I didn't ask for an NES instead. Nope - I wanted a Gameboy.

I didn't get the Gameboy. Santa Claus died that night.

7 or 8 I think. One of my cousins told me at the family Christmas Eve gathering.

Somewhere between 4-6 when I saw my mother putting all the presents under the tree.

I was 5 but was never really into Santa anyway. My mom was an immigrant who tried to do it for fun with us but she wasnt exactly subtle. I hid under the dining table and overhead her telling our guests how she wraps presents while we sleep on Christmas Eve (which was sooo loud we always knew it was her) and I remember jumping out and yelling aha!! I just thought it was funny and moved on.

I dunno. Around 9 or 10 maybe? I think it was when Santa got me a toy bulldozer. I finally made the connection that Santa gifts seemed to always be the kind of traditional "things boys should like; according to conservative old fucks" and never the things I asked for.

The year before my mom and Santa hot me the same gift for Christmas. That and Santa was the last domino to fall after the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny.
