No. My mum would insist that she was religious, but she was not.

Nope. Parents are both very much atheists, although they were christened. But that was more due to it just being "what you did" rather than their parents being religious, as even they were pretty non religious and only got involved to be part of their respective communities.

Yes, but actually religious. The church taught everyone to respect others and help those in need, and not to ostracize people who were different.

Not like the gay-bashing nutjobs we see so much today

Raised catholic. But my parents were not super hardcore when I was a kid. We went to church every Sunday and on Christmas and Easter. But not much was required of me

Years later, a sister half my age was adopted. My parents suddenly became very hardcore religious in their efforts to teach her about catholicism. Now they are practically fundamentalists. I find it very annoying

thankfully not.

my mom wanted us to be, but my dad wanted us to decide for ourselves.

so, my upbringing was pretty secular.

Yes, Christian fundamentalism is a disease. Nothing against Christians in general, but man are the conservative ones a blight on humanity.

We went to church every Sunday, and we went to PSR(religious education for kids in public school), but other than that, not so much.

Southern Baptist but my parents are a lot more moderate than my grandparents. I pretty much lived at church whenever I visited my grandparents in the summer. At least 3 times a weeks, 4+ hours at a time not including vacation bible school which was 8+ hours a day. The general annoyance of being at church so often was the start of making me not want to go anymore, but I didn't really become agnostic until after observing a lot of hypocrisy in the church

But weirdly enough, I started pre-school at a Catholic montessori and got my PhD at another Catholic school >_>

We went to church weekly up until I was maybe 7-8, and I think I did CCD for a year or 2.

Then we just stopped. Wouldnt say we were ready religious by any means.

Stereotypical Latino immigrant Catholicism, with a bit of that vague superstitious sauntering mixed in. Grew out of it when I was 8.

Sort of. My dad never was into it, but my mom kind of was. We all grew out of it though.

Yes, I was raised to be Catholic. Though if she wanted me to keep practicing, she really should have thought about the way she acts. Always being concerned about the opinions of strange people at Church or elsewhere really made me not like what should have been a nice community.

Nope

mom is a staunch atheist, and my dad's whole take on religion is "I'm going to hell anyways"
