I don't even get how account sharing isn't allowed, it literally says 1 person with the lower subcription and more for the more expensive one. I'm guessing the more is supposed to be in the same household or something, but they are making more money by having more people use the same account.

Shouldn't they just be happy with that?

I mean I get if you wanna prevent it on the $10 a month 1 person accounts, but what about the more expensive ones with multiple people? Premium says 4 devices at the same time.....do they expect one person to watch on 4 devices at once? If not, isn't that account sharing?

If they are saying it's restricted to one location then they are just limiting how you share the account.

Currently they have 9.99 15$ (two devices and other perks) and $20 (4 devices). They just added a 6.99 plan as well (1 device with ads).

If you want to prevent account sharing just limit it to the 6.99 and 9.99 plans, only letting one device access it and only let you change that device every so many days (3 maybe?), or if you really wanna go crazy every month I guess).

For standard with 2 devices you could do a similar thing I guess and have 2 total devices that can be used every X amount of time, and with premium 4 devices. That is total devices as well, not just at the same time.

Some people might want to watch it on an ipad and tv for instance and then have to pay for multiple devices because of that.

Otherwise I have no clue what the heck they expect to do to prevent account sharing on premium where you are supposed to be able to watch on 4 devices at the same time. You can't limit that to one location, half the point is to have multiple people able to watch from different locations (Who the heck watches 4 freaking netflix shows in one house without watching together?).

Technically, is was encouraged at first. They once tweeted out, "Love is sharing a password"... So, it was encouraged years ago... And their packages include tiers where you can have it simultaneously playing on multiple screens at once... But those screens now have to be in the same home unless you want to pay the extra amount for having a "second home"... And while that price in low now, it will rise... Either once they start losing subscribers, or realize tha tsome people don't mind paying the low price... Especially since that means they still need more money... So, why not rise the new price they just gave us...

As for changing the home, it would have to be less... But in the end, the whole home thing shouldn't even be a thing... Many people watch it on the go. So, that sucks for people who watch it other places besides their home... Like I watch it at work quote a bit. And while visiting home. And on TDYs... It sucks to be told I can't use an account I'm paying for because I'm not at home...

But having it limit devices is also a bad idea. Many people have it on multiple devices. I would hate to have to pick and choose which devices would have it... Limiting devices in no better, IMO... That would lose them a bunch of subscribers... I know families who have it on their TV, multiple phones, multiple tablets, and gaming consoles... They would have to have multiple accounts (Or pay for accounts so they could have like 8 devices... Which is kind of ridiculous...

Account Sharing is like piracy. The person using the account is unlikely to want an active subscription.

Not really, because account sharing involves more valid buys and cracking down on it hurts far more than trying to crack down on piracy.
