Is it because it is too expensive? is that the number 1 reason? obv. this is directed at those of you who usually don't buy all the consoles

Why would i want a ps5?

Price, room, and because I like to work on completing Trophies and Achievments and it's nice to look in one place to see them all as opposed to keeping track of what I have on one and the other.

Plus, PC master race now.

Nowadays it's more that there's much more overlap between systems and having everything doesn't seem necessary. I COULD get a PS5, but I think I'll get by quite fine with the Switch, XSX, and gaming PC I have.

I probably didn't need the XSX either, but a friend us an Xbox gamer so I went ahead and got one for that.

Barely have enough free time to justify my PC and one console let alone buying all three to collect dust. The XBox is basically irrelevant with a gaming PC and frankly nothing Sony has lately interests me enough to track down a PS5.

I usually buy whatever console appeals to me and play all the games in it's library that interest me and then I move on.

Because PC gaming is far superior.

ive always wanted to get a switch but i just have too many games that i need to finish that i cant even play because overwatch is too addicting.

money and xbox is shit

Don't really see the need for an Xbox with PC, PS5, and Switch

Only games (that I care about) I'm aware I'm missing out on are the old Gears of War games

I have way too many games per the one console i get per gen. You must have way too much money and time or like a very few games per system.

I do get all of them now and will continue to do so as long as backwards compatibility remains a thing since I just trade in the older systems and get the new ones for cheap.

If they stop doing BC I don't think I can justify it anymore as I'd need the older hardware.

There has never really been a reason to own Playstation or Xbox consoles since I have always had a gaming-level PC.

NIntendo always has exclusive games, though, so that + PC has allowed me to play any game I've wanted to for the last 20+ years.

Seriously, when you're a PC owner, why would you want a console? That's like asking a Porsche owner why he doesn't own a Toyota Corolla.

Too expensive and too hard

I managed to get a series s more than a year ago. It's still hard to snag a ps5 at retail price.

There is no point, either because of massive overlap, PC being the superior way to play, or nothing worth playing on a given console.

I'm not willing to let a single game or brand force me to buy multiple consoles.

And the need for multiple consoles has changed considering that two of them are basically identical hardware for the past few generations.

Upgrades. Was playing games on stuff like the Atari in the 70's. Went to ZX Spectrum 48k+ (48k+) <------ that's important lol. Watched the fight between the home pcs like the Commodore 64. Stayed with Amiga for a bit because of the 600 and the upgrades to the HD.
All the while we had a Master System in the house, (Spoilt bro). After that it was the Megadrive (Genesis) Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, PS3 etc etc etc.

And now I have a confession to make.
Never played a Nintendo console. Never picked up a Nintendo controller. Nintendo nothing! Lol.

But......... I can't own all that old stuff.
I just don't want to go back that far again. The further forard it goes, the better I reckon. XD

PS5 has five exclusives, and I have no interest in any of them. Meanwhile, XS has no exclusives at all.
Probably finally going to build a decent gaming PC sometime next near - the office is relocating to roughly pissing distance from a Microcenter.
