describing the fight.

i was ah shit this is insane, so many mechanics, so much coordination needed, but it could be fun

then he was like "okay so once you've done all that, you now have the boss at 50% and can move on to phase2"

yeah fuck this

Taking the fights in pieces really helps with learning. When you put it together the fights in Endwalker aren't very hard compared to previous expansions.

This isn't even savage and the average player isn't gonna pass it until they can do it unsynced next expansion.

Now that you cleared the last set of mechanics, this next one requires you to remember what mechanic you did third in the sequence while remembering what the five adds did in their sequence.

Yep. That's why I've not cleared more than the second fight in any savage tier since ARR. Way more effort than I'd like to put in.

Endwalker savage is really easy. The only hard fight has been p8 because the DPS check is tight so you can't afford too many deaths, if at all.

Savage is pretty fun. It is DEFINITELY a big step up from extremes/normal modes though, and isn't for everybody. P7S is honestly probably the easiest fight of the tier too, funnily enough. The fight is so hilariously backloaded.

Hope you find a good crew. One weak link and its almost always over before it begins.

My first FFXIV raid crew had a chatty healer in the group. Wanted to constantly visit and make jokes. It was just enough to cause them to be a little slow and it was wipe after wipe after wipevery frustrating.

I finally left that group and shit you not, first PuG I tried was the clear.

Found another crew to join a while later and the clan leader ran them. It was awesome. This dude just quietly gave direction through the whole thing and everyone was quiet and focused. Great team.

I only played when ARR first dropped on consoles. Even savage Ifrit in a PUG was such an exercise in frustration. I dont think I ever beat Titan before I quit.

Yeah, for savage if you decide to get a raid crew, it's EXTREMELY and vitally important that everybody be on the same page in regards to expectations and whatnot.

That color tile mechanic makes sense to me but I can't see the average player even understanding it unless you use raid chat in discord to order each one around lol.

This. I left my recent raid group because I was frustrated with a lot of stuff which in turn made me not want to play the game anymore. I'd like to raid with like minded people but I dunno if I can do set days anymore or even if I really want to play the game at all because of it.

Which fight mechanic are you talking about? P8? The alchemy stuff?

Raiding isn't for me. It's basically like 8-person DDR for several minutes, except if any one person screws up significantly enough you usually all have to start over.

And I'm not saying I'm not ever that one person; I often am, and then I have to deal with feeling like I'm just holding the group back.

It isn't a prime number -- even though going by the guidelines a lot of us, myself included, were taught in school (divisible only by itself and 1), you'd think it would be.

I can't even cross that Lengthsome Gait guy's narrow ass bridge

I feel that. A lot of it depends on your controls setup. I feel like keyboard players do this a lot easier than controller players, because for them it's much easier to just spin the camera around and then run -- not even just walk -- perfectly straight in any direction (good ol WASD controls). Controller input adds potential wobbliness into the mix. Gods help you if your analog stick has any drift whatsoever.

And even then, sometimes your healer might just be feeling vengeful that particular day. (Do I have to give mild NSFW language warnings for clips like these? Oh well, mild NSFW language warning:)

None of the phase 2 mechanics are harder than the phase 1 mechanics I feel like. The gazes in snake 1 and 2 will usually mess up somewhere and the shriek in snake 2 will mess up a lot too and dog 2 is just annoying. Phase 1 is the bottleneck for p8.
