Yeah you really don't have to watch the original at all. The Suicide Squad is such a strong entertaining odd and grotesque movie and character piece. I love it. King Shark is top tier in my opinion.

Crazy to call The Suicide Squad forgettable especially compared to the first one...

Way worst cast and characters too... At least Margot Robbie finally got better at playing Harley on her third try...

I turned off suicide squad like 20 minutes in and never looked back. I watched The Suicide Squad later, didnt feel like I missed a thing, and had a blast. Do it. The first movie is trash, and the second movie knows it and doesn't try to tie it down with it.

No I watched it Allright. I mostly remember the opening where a shit ton of people die and I remember a certain someone betraying the team. I vaguely remember waller showing up. I vaguely remember the plot having something to do with sensitive information on a flash drive or some shit.

As someone who watched the first one solely to watch the second solely so I could watch Peacemaker.

You don't need the first one at all. The only required context is that the first movie sucked so hard that the first ten minutes of the sequel is just mocking it.
