A.I. farms the rice, processes it, stocks the shelf, sells it.
Should the new A.I. president keeping giving humans UBI and rice rations? What have they done to deserve it??

So, without really assuming anything about an AGI, other than that it will have goals and will act to achieve those goals, we can see that it is likely they will try to prevent themselves from being shut down; try to prevent itself from being modified in important ways that we want to modify it; try to improve itself and its intelligence to become more powerful; and try to acquire a lot of resources.

What's to fear is not AI having resentment of humans, what's to fear is AI doing exactly what it was told to do.

Your question makes me think of that line from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory:

Sounds like a dumb question. If a computer is programmed to mimmick humanity or be curious, it would find a way to eat the chocolate whether it can taste it like we can or not.
