He fell on thursday. He hit his head and fell on his side and hand after work. He went to urgent care right after. PA said he was ok so he leaves. Then we get a call that says he was wrong and that he should get an x-ray of his side. I guess his supervisor was concerned after the PA talked to him.

So my dad gets an x-ray at an imaging center of where the pain is on his side and nothing is broken.

My dad is in worse pain now and it spread to the middle of his upper body. He says it feels muscular but hes not sure. There is no bruising. The area around his eye is red and purplish and a small area around his knuckle is slightly swollen.

He said his head doesn't hurt just when he presses on it. Doesn't have headache or dizziness.

I'm no expert, but kinda torn. Cause it's for injuries/illnesses you shouldn't wait for the next day. You don't want a hematoma, hemmorage edema (brain swelling), skull fracture or concussion. I guess emergency is better then?

I just don't know to what extent of testing they did in his head. Sometimes you really got to push for a brain scan. Especially MRI or cat scan.

The brain itself doesn't feel any pain. But if you get swelling or something and it pushes against something.. could cause irreversible damage if not treated in time.

Like you do not want any swelling or bruising.

My dad had a brain tumor and passed away almost 2 years ago. At some point he was falling a lot in the house. Luckily the falls aren't too bad, but the elderly really are more vulnerable to head injuries.

Bob sagat died to blunt force trauma on the back of his head from a fall. He tried to sleep it over, but didn't make it.

He needs to be checked out in the ER immediately. It may be nothing, but it may also be a slow brain bleed like a Subdural or Epidural hematoma. At least get checked out, they'll probably get a CT of his head. That's all the advice I can give without examining him, I'm sorry.

"The area around the eye is red/purplish"

That could be a basilar skull fracture (called Raccoon Eyes). He needs a CT.
