a lot of mfers out here have been low bronze since obama was president, their acc level will be well into the 200s and 300s too so it's not like they aren't playing a shitton

it's kinda chilling to think someone could sink that much time and effort into something and see zero improvement

It's the kind of game where people blame their team mates so often that it makes them think they're doing everything right and are stuck in "elo hell" because their team is so much worse than they are.

The fact that sometimes a bad player can get fed early and carry the game with a raw power advantage means that those players think they're actually good at the game.

The very design of LoL encourages the reinforcement of bad habits, because they succeed 35% of the time.

yeah the gameplan for everyone in gold and below seems to be

1. queue up
2. coinflip on whether they'll get super fed
3. ???
4. profit

i'm pretty sure this is why even the most obvious macro decisions seem completely lost on them, like clearly being in a position to just end the game but deciding to circle back and get baron instead because *drools*

Whats not to understand? You said it yourself there is a lot of depth, there is close to 150 champs, there is constantly evolving game play and balance patches, and most people don't treat it like a second job meaning they are not watching the best players to get better or studying game theory or anything like that. Seems weird that you'd make a topic to shit on people that clearly just play the game because of their enjoyment of it instead of a desire to be the best.

Ranked is the most likely place to play against people of similar skill levels, and competition brings out shitty sides of people if they are poor sports.

I played LoL for like a week, 10 yrs ago. In that short time, I learned why I wasn't good at it.

You actually need a measure of discipline to play well; as far as I know, there aren't any free-for-all, do whatever you want style characters. All the characters have roles which should guide how they're played.

Another thing that made me a bad LoL player is I held grudges against characters--not players--when those characters were simply being played by minimally-competent players. So, I got killed by some female pirate character who carried pistols, and she killed me a lot. I was a feeder.

Thankfully I didn't stick with that game. I think not long after, GTAV came out for PS3.

The idea that you get better simply by doing something more is flawed. Some people wont get better now matter how long they do something.

Just play dota instead. We're bad at our game and able to flame you in another language in voice chat while we do it

i don't really buy that. i think any skill is learnable to a high level for just about anyone, but 1. some people learn much faster and 2. some people need outside guidance/coaching to get the ball rolling

To improve, you have to play the same champion for hundreds of games.

I get bored after while so I try new champions. So I never become any good with any.

That's exactly how these mobas work. Draw people in to try to git gud.

If it's a true 'sport' like they advertise it in 'e-sports', the game would only have 5 champions.
