Binging the big bang theory for the first time and I really like it

But there's a scene where the 2 nerds are playing a video games and one is holding an Xbox controller and the other is holding a Playstation controller! I'm so offensive.

Not sure how far you're in but it starts going downhill around season 4 IIRC

Like it's still decent but the first few seasons are the best

Ends very strongly though

I use a Wii U Pro controller on PS4 through an adapter. What's the issue? It's pretty accurate for a nerd to use their preferred controller regardless of what they're actually playing on.

I always considered it more like the emperor's new clothes. People who don't understand what the characters are saying laugh along with a laugh track because "haha, the nerd said something funny". People who do understand what the characters are saying laugh along with the laugh track because they're just happy that nerdy jokes are on tv. I'm just sitting there wondering why nobody is pointing out that the show is terribly unfunny.

The only people I've seen get genuinely upset about BBT were the unsuccessful nerds.

Tbh, BBT has very accurate portrayal of what a physicist is like.

I think the show is great, tbh, but I get why people would say it's not funny. But trying to say it's "nerd black face" is a step too far.

I liked it a lot from like, late 2011 (when I first discovered it) to 2014 or so. Then the guys started settling down and growing up, which is admirable in reality, but in this case boring in television.
