I agree that the "hate" doesnt exist. Its manufactured by broke millennials who want to blame someone other than themselves for their failures in life. In fact, the hate goes the other way. Millennials are the angriest generation.

in reality OUR (and odds are high you are a millennial) has far less money than past generations do to stagnant wages and crippiling student debt

baby boomers took advantage of every program imaginable, as well as a livable minimum wage that was always increasing, a solid housing market, abortion access and then promptly closed the door on their kids and grandkids by

-acting like babies about minimum wage since the 90s
-becoming landlords
-supporting abortion restrictions
-hiring more of their own with "20 years experience"

it's fucking irritating. and to top it all off they arent even informed on basic fucking facts. i had a boomer try to tell me that they had it rough in the 70s because of rent. they just have no fucking clue. they dont want to have a clue. they want to melt their brains with the same drivel theyve been injesting since the 60s.

naw, there are so many more factors that go into the economy than "stagnant wages and.....student debt".

infact, the reality is that the vast majority of college-goers incurred zero student debt. Over half of college-attendees have it paid for by parents. in my country it's close to 80%.

Sure, Millennials are angry, but so are Boomers.

The difference is why they are angry. Boomers are angry because they're spoiled and throw tantrums, Millennials are angry because they're getting screwed.

Meanwhile gen x being completely ignored again: Don't worry, we're used to it.

Boomers climbed the ladder and pulled it up after them all the while calling those who can't reach the top lazy.

Of course not all boomers are jerks nor think that way. Many have been screwed over by their fellow boomers as well.

Things are definitely a lot more difficult for millennials then in the past and boomers are definitely partly to blame but there is a certain oh woe is me feeling from a lot of millennials.

You got dealt a shit hand but just moaning about it isnt going to change anything.

I feel there are a lot more things people see as necessities that didnt exist during the 60s and 70s. Some people definitely get themselves into the mind
set of Im never going to afford a house so Im not even going to try and achieve it.

I have frugal friends who used to annoy me for being penny pinchers who never wanted to go out to restaurants or on holidays when I did but they were the ones putting away half their pay check since they were 16 and have a house whereas I still dont.

I appreciate there are a lot of people in a bad situation who cant even afford to put aside a couple hundred dollars a month even if they wanted to but this isnt aimed at them. Its aimed at the people who have convinced themselves they are poor even if they arent.

Things are only "more difficult" for Millenials because they expect more. Rent, for example, was cheaper in the 70's. But you also didn't have the internet, smart phones, apple products, etc. Additionally, building codes were much less strict and houses didn't have things like air conditioning. A family of four regularly lived in spaces less than 1,000 sq ft and having your own room was a pipe dream as a kid.

Lower your expectations and you can live just like they did.

You cant pay off college as a young adult with a single paycheck anymore. My dad still thinks college is the same price it was in the 60s and 70s
