You can not think that and just feel defeated over how the world reacted to it >_>. The masks protectthe people who don't care about you more than it protects you. But I agree you're still doing the right thing by wearing it and people who don't aren't helping others and are selfish.

The problem I have is if someone coughed my way and Im the one with the mask, now their germs are just chillin on my masks >_>. Which is why everyone is supposed to wear one or it doesn't work. You're suppose to prevent your own germs for others sake and them do the same. But we're all too entitled to do that

Did you know back in the day before AC, they designed buildings for maximum airflow potential? New medical buildings are now taking notes from older architecture to help with respiratory viruses because the switch to AC did cause issues with contagion. Then the added scrubbers and good filters, but it's still more cost effective to have the air pressure differences be naturally occurring

I remember reading on the CDC website that double vaxxed + boosted means you can (relatively) safely go maskless without fear of spreading the disease.

I need to take a step back and realize, as usual, several others have opted to chime in on a conversation I was having with one person.

I will not be addressing the peanut gallery. I made the mistake in my earlier post and regret it greatly. As like with the hydra, one conversation chopped off, two more spawn.

I will continue the conversation with the person with whom I was speaking as they see fit to respond. I left off the conversation with a question in post 180 and will leave it at that. If they choose not to respond, so be it. The engagement ends there. I would not pursue that person to continue the engagement, as that would likely constitute harassment, so I will remain within the confines of the ToU as I have been so far. But I have no interest in tackling what would eventually become dozens of posts over time for each individual.

At work we went from mandatory to highly recommended masking but once it wasnt absolutely mandatory no one wore them again. >_>

This is at a hospital, so full of healthcare workers etc.

if they arent going to do it, I suspect no one will?

Since the advent of omicron and omicron variations, and the discovery that there's a falloff in immunity since your last vaccination, not exceptionally. Contagion is a function of viral load. The vaccine assists your body in reducing viral load that you're carrying/ tolerating some viral load, provided that the viral load is of a variant that the vaccine targets.

Omicron is very known for breakthrough infections, especially later variants. In theory, omicron variants are less severe, but there's still evidence of immune system compromise or long covid even after recovery from omicron variants.
