After the shooting in Colorado Springs and terrorists causing a power outage because of a drag show, LGBT people need to protest in huge numbers. Enough is enough.

Why not? Aren't they tired of the way they're being treated? Protesting could help bring change.

everyone should protest for the rights of others

What specific things would you like to see them protest for?

I would argue that when there are currently empowered nutjobs running around shooting up everything even tangentially related to the LGBT community that gathering together in one open place is the last thing anyone should do.

I would say there are likely better ways to fight oppression than to create a fish-in-a-barrel situation with LGBT lives, yes.

The solution to what though? LGBT being killed in clubs? That's already illegal. I'm not really sure how gathering a group of people together who are currently having a problem of being massacred en masse when gathered into large groups to protest vague concepts as TC is suggesting is helping anybody but the people trying to murder them.

Maybe people who aren't currently being targetted for murder should be protesting oj their behalf, if anything.

People need to live and enjoy their lives and should be allowed and encouraged to go out and do what they please. But there's a difference between doing that and TC saying "LGBT people need to go out and protest in huge numbers"

Heck, we should all be protesting in most of the western world tbh.

Our governments are servicing themselves and the rich and then shitting in the face of everyone else and telling us there's nothing to be done.

The LGBT+ community, and the "T" part especially are facing direct and abhorrent attacks by people in the media and politics, many who will then in turn be the next victim once trans people have been abused and had their rights removed. Because for some reason they think they will be a "protected minority" somehow and not just one in the long line of victims as they once were not long ago.

They barely protect kids in schools.

LGBT people should collectively organize as a group, but transpeople (which includes myself) are one of the smallest groups in society. We need help from bigger groups.

He's not saying we have to roll over. Gay here btw. There comes a time when others have to step up and protect the unprotected. Straight people aren't gonna be targeted like that so they have something LGBT+ people do not have. What happened in North Carolina is a form of domestic terrorism. Not only did it affect that drag show but it affected EVERYONE and all of those people need to step up and protest against the people who shot at the substations.
