Am I crazy or does the demo seem... fun? Like my expectations were below bottom of the barrel considering it's square enix we're talking about here, but I'm actually entertained. It seems like a fun hack and slash action game with rpg elements and world exploring.

I thought it was clunky and boring. Full game is that for like 6 to 8 hours.

I thought the clunkiness is just because it's a demo

The game is pretty good when you get into it.

Some of the weapons are trash and very slow, while others flow like water.

Nope it's in the full game too. And it's exactly that for the entire game

Gameplay is smooth as fuck when I played the demo, I was surprised. Bought it on release but havent even opened it yet due to backlog.

Same. It doesn't seem bad, just mediocre.

As someone who disliked the Valkyrie Profile games, this is the first game that is at least accessible and potentially fun. The first game was super obtuse but I stuck with it until the end because of people promising it's good. I didn't bother doing that with the second game, quit that shit at the opening level, the gameplay/combat was both obtuse and not remotely fun. And this is despite the fact that I was really intrigued by the intro and characters.

So for this demo to be actually playable and easy to pick up is surprising, it plays unlike any of the valkyrie profile games
