So I just finished up the main game, headed into the 3rd semester. First thing I fucking figure out? My goddamn cat is human now. Great, what fuckery have I woke up to?

Everything is fucking off. People are happy instead of miserable and coping. Everything is right, which means something is deeply wrong. Naturally I expect this to be some shenanigans resolving Yakazawi's unresolved B plot, and of course I am correct. Go to the new palace. Oh, someone has a Savior complex? Guess its gotta be the *other* new Confidant. Y'know the one hung up on healing people that I just taught everythign I know about cognitive psience? Annnnd he's a Code Red reality warper because that makes fucking sense I guess.

I'm not mad about any of that. Pretty standard SMT stuff, honestly. You expect it to be a bit trite and on the nose. No no no. I'm mad as hell because its fucking FFTA all over again. I get to spend the next week ruining my goddamn best friends' perfect new lives because this isn't real reality. *pukes* Except this is worse because at least FFTA was arguably unhealthy escapism from a world we all knew was both real and a worse place for being real. Here it is LITERALLY just an upgrade of our reality that I guess we're gonna skip out on because, idk, we don't want someone else controlling us? Still not healthy, really, and I'm sure we're gonna find out why along the way (how stable, exactly, can a world be being held together by a human?) but if convincing my cat he's not goddamn human isn't bad enough I absolutely cannot wait to convince two girls their parents are dead

I loved Maruki's ending so much

Personally I think the main issue is Maruki doesn't take into consideration individual cases. He's going to help you even if you don't want it. He's going to put the tentacles in you and you will like it.

I just wanted to put that last sentence in, that's the point of this post.

He did take away all the growth they had from overcoming their personal traumas and made them bland caricatures of themselves... But sure, it's a better world now...

Man I'm on your side here... But would, for example, Haru agree? Or Futaba? The two of them probably have the most to gain from a more perfect reality. I just resent having to be the harbinger of ill fucking tidings OR having to let shit slide into a comfortable oblivion

I'll recommend making a backup save btw. You can choose to side with Maruki, so if ya wanna leave a version of the world like that, you can do it that way!

He forced it on people and also robbed them of their hopes and dreams, if they're not good enough in his view to attain their dream he forces a different one on them. You think people wouldn't have an issue with having their entire life controlled by someone else?

The PTs do consider it, and then ultimately decide that what he's doing is basically no better than what Yaldabaoth was doing, he just has a friendly face
