I remember when CS:S came out and it was so big and shit and everyone played Dust2 only but I kept getting owned in the game, it didn't matter which team I was on. If you went anywhere near the damn double doors, showing not even an inch of yourself in that little open then BOOM HEADSHOT you dead, they got you with an AWP or Scout. How the fuck do people headshot in that tiny open doors with people running past it at Sonic speed? You'd believe everyone was hacking. The game was insane and the players were even more insane.

Counter Strike is one of the shallowest FPS games ever made. Same round setups on the same few maps over and over with the same simplistic gameplay.

Objectivly, the game provides no variance whatsoever. That's just how it's designed.

That game is ancient, and people have been playing it religiously for a long, long time.

Practice. Loads and loads of practice. Just like anything else.

you're conflating variety with depth, and you're doing so because you've never grinded a competitive game to a competent level. there's not much else to say.

If you play the same map enough times, you know the flowchart. Back in my heyday, I didn't even wait to see, I just shot through the crack and it worked >half the time.

I played TFC, a far more skill demanding game than CS, all day every day back before Steam was even a thing and have reached a very high level in BlazBlue which I still play every day

Call of Duty takes more skills than this game so why waste time on this low budget game?
