Jolene fights the final boss in an epic showdown. Just when she is winning he gets a power boost that gives him God like powers which he then uses to murder the entire cast of part 6 including jotaro kujo making jolenes stort arc of trying tk rescue him pointless. Jolene and the little boy sidekick get away. Jolene stays behind to fight the final boss and give the little boy a chance to escape. This final fight between Jolene and the final boss Is off screen but Jolene the hero of the story gets effortlessly beaten and murdered becoming the first jojo to lose their final battle. The little boy then uses weather reports stand to poison the final boss with oxygen killing him. But he was doing like a ff8 style time compression thing so all the stories from part 1 through 6 got erased and a new timeline started. Part 7 takes place in this new timeline

apprently it was because it had caught up with modern times and the writer did not just want to set things in the future going forward

I haven't had much interest in part 6 because the ending is one of the worst I've ever seen. So much in fact I started labeling it the manga equalavant of Spidermans 'one more day'.

Are you trolling today? None of this is true. Events not relating to Pucci all still happened and Part 7 is a completely unrelated world.

From what I understand it's a little bit tricky (I also haven't read Jojolion yet so maybe it's expanded upon there).

From what I understand, still living characters from Parts 1 through 6 (such as Giorno, Josuke and I think even Joseph since he was never confirmed dead) still exist in the new timeline as their regular selves, but deceased characters were brought back reincarnated.

I thought SBR followed that same logic and was part of the same timeline as the post-Stone Ocean timeline but I could be wrong.

Good thing I stopped reading the manga after part 3. Every other part after sounds like absolute trash after reading those posts.

Though I'm still a little confused about the finale what did it mean by Emporio tricking Pucci into inserting the Weather Report disc into him? I thought anyone can insert anyone's disc into each other? Why couldn't Emporio do it earlier than?

The idea is that the only person who has the ability to alter fate is Pucci himself. Everyone else must abide by whatever path was set out for them, which is why AU Jotaro and Jolyne end up repeating pretty much the exact same story beats that they did in the original timeline from the beginning of Stone Ocean. Remember how Emporio tried to go in the opposite direction from where his hidden room was, but circumstances made it so that he eventually ended up escaping into there anyway? He was already set to do that, so the universe course-corrected to force him into that scenario.

However, Emporio basically abused a loophole by making Pucci technically be the one who inserted the disc. Otherwise, it can be assumed that something would have happened to prevent Emporio from being able to successfully insert it (whether he accidentally drops it, some random goon stops him from using it, etc.,)

Oh got it, I love when Araki finds these "loopholes" in things lol.
