Yeah, I read the manga last year and that ending is gonna be nuts. I'm lowkey hoping they tease SBR because everyone knows that part is a masterpiece.

I'm watching the last episode of the Jailhouse Rock arc right now to get caught up, but I'm also hoping they mention wtf Giorno was in the last 3rd of the story (but I doubt it).

Just when she is winning he gets a power boost that gives him God like powers which he then uses to murder the entire cast of part 6 including jotaro kujo making jolenes stort arc of trying tk rescue him pointless. Jolene and the little boy sidekick get away. Jolene stays behind to fight the final boss and give the little boy a chance to escape. This final fight between Jolene and the final boss Is off screen but Jolene the hero of the story gets effortlessly beaten and murdered becoming the first jojo to lose their final battle. The little boy then uses weather reports stand to poison the final boss with oxygen killing him. But he was doing like a ff8 style time compression thing so all the stories from part 1 through 6 got erased and a new timeline started. Part 7 takes place in this new timeline

My details are probably a bit fuzzy, but Father Pucci's stand evolves into a new Stand that grants him the ability to use gravitational force to dramatically speed up time, which allows him to reset the universe. He also kills pretty much all of the main characters except for Emporio, who kills Pucci and causes the universe to reset again. This time, all of the main characters who were killed in the previous timeline are reincarnated as different versions of themselves, apparently unrelated to the Joestar bloodline in this new universe. This directly sets the stage for the next part, Steel Ball Run, which is essentially a reboot of The Phantom Blood with reimagined characters, themes and a whole new premise.

Technically Johnathan lost his final battle and that led to parts 3 through 6. 3 because the crew had to stop DIO and most of the people who naturally developed or else got a Stand from the arrow would not have worked together to stop them. 4 because Jotaro and Josuke 4 wouldn't have had a stand to get them involved. DIO taking Johnathan's body meant Giorno being born at all so no part 5. And no DIO means no Pucci in part 6.

like at this point you're intentionally grossly misrepresenting events. this isn't attempted to be portrayed as a final fight but as a heroic sacrifice because Pucci will be able to sense her and kill both of them if she stays with Emporio

how does jojolion end
A mostly unrelated 2 chapter flashback to a time before anyone in the main cast was born. In the last half of the second chapter, it goes back to present. Josuke and his girlfriend leaving the local hospital where his comatose parent figure resides, as he thinks of everyone who just died for nothing in the finale, including his sister figure who he didnt speak with for 80 chapters. Josuke goes to the cake store and he picks out a cake for the Higashikatas who are crying about how everyone is dead; now that the ones who didn't trust Josuke died, he feels accepted as one of them. THE END

From what I understand it's a little bit tricky (I also haven't read Jojolion yet so maybe it's expanded upon there).

From what I understand, still living characters from Parts 1 through 6 (such as Giorno, Josuke and I think even Joseph since he was never confirmed dead) still exist in the new timeline as their regular selves with everything they went through canonically still happening, but deceased characters were brought back reincarnated.

I thought SBR followed that same logic and was part of the same timeline as the post-Stone Ocean timeline but I could be wrong.

SBR and JoJolion take place in a complete brand new universe and that universe is not created by Made in Heaven. Its not part of Jojo 1-6 timeline.

This + the only 'reincarnations' were people who died during Stone Ocean as a result of Pucci association. Jolyne is now called Irene because Jotaro and his wife's relationship went a different way from Jotaro being able spend more time on family with Pucci existing.

To elaborate, the ending is what happens if the universe has no pucci. He essentially erased himself. With pucci never existing, the whole baby swap thing never happen (or could still happen but the whole kkk thing wouldn't happen).

Jotaro also has good relationship with his family, because there would be no rumors of dio's last disciple still working toward some goals, therefore irene isn't estranged like jolyne did, so her personality is tame compared to rebel jolyne that have to act out of jotaro's attention. And jotaro isn't spending a lot of his time obsessing finding pucci either. Afaik, everything happened normally so in the new universe, part 1-5 still happen mostly the same.

I'll be honest, reading the manga for the finale in part 6 was really hard to follow, so I'm glad it was a lot easier to see it in action in the anime. Not to bag on Araki's art style, but sometimes it can make it difficult to follow along what he wants the audience to see.

Though I'm still a little confused about the finale what did it mean by Emporio tricking Pucci into inserting the Weather Report disc into him? I thought anyone can insert anyone's disc into each other? Why couldn't Emporio do it earlier than?

The idea is that the only person who has the ability to alter fate is Pucci himself. Everyone else must abide by whatever path was set out for them, which is why AU Jotaro and Jolyne end up repeating pretty much the exact same story beats that they did in the original timeline from the beginning of Stone Ocean. Remember how Emporio tried to go in the opposite direction from where his hidden room was, but circumstances made it so that he eventually ended up escaping into there anyway? He was already set to do that, so the universe course-corrected to force him into that scenario.

However, Emporio basically abused a loophole by making Pucci technically be the one who inserted the disc. Otherwise, it can be assumed that something would have happened to prevent Emporio from being able to successfully insert it (whether he accidentally drops it, some random goon stops him from using it, etc.,)
