Like try to force you to come in to work even if you have a good reason to call out

I guess that would depend on the line of work and specific circumstances.

Is the person calling "calling out" having other performance issues? Calling out often? Not performing well otherwise?

Or is the person calling out a more-or-less model employee who produces results and gets the job done?

Would the average person recognize this "good reason" to actually be a "good reason"?

Lots of factors involved, more info would be helpful.

As an American, I've heard "call out" and "call in" used interchangeably in my experience. Also, I've literally never heard anyone say "Stand on line" ever.
