If youre in uniform, I highly doubt they suspect you of stealing. I walk past them, though, especially if theres a line. You can pretend to be on your phone and they usually wont bother you.

if there's an ACTUAL receipt checker, checking the marked number of items to the number of items in the cart (usually just a couple seconds) for EVERY customer, i'll patiently wait.

No wal-mart i've been in has that. they have somebody that paces back and forth and tells you to have a nice day for dozens of people in a row and only stops you if they think you look "suspicious", then try to clumsily search your bags. They can fuck right off.

Technically, the policy is to only check receipts when you have things that are not bagged. They aren't supposed to bother you if they are bagged up.
