I used to be obsessed with the show but I think once they killed off Carl, interest in the show plummeted off a cliff

They stopped caring after season 3.

I think I made it to season 6 or 7 but my interest dropped like a rock as soon as Carl died.

Who's gonna end up with Rick's fate from the comics?

Well they still have over a million viewers from the looks of it, but yeah it's not getting the hype that it had during seasons 4-7. I and so many of my friends were watching it weekly and excitedly discussing each episode

Lol at that S7 drop off. Yeah, fuck AMC and the show runners for that. Definitely was the beginning of the end for me personally.

Just answer two questions for me are Maggie and Neagan still alive in that show?

I honestly thought it was already over. Havent watched it since the 2nd or 3rd episode of season 7

People talk bad on Game of Thrones, but its ability to retain viewers was insane. Meanwhile, TWD is limping along with barely any fans left. I think most people checked out when I did, with Carl's death making the entire series feel pointless in the end.

I remember kind of liking the first couple of episodes well enough, but the plot never took off in a meaningful way for me so I don't think I even made it to season 2.

Yeah the viewer count of the spinoff doesn't surprise me lol. I was hoping they would do more with the premise. Show us more of how everything went to shit, since with the original series, we only saw things from Rick's perspective where he wakes up 4-5 weeks into it already. But they sped through the beginning of things and then it became basically the same "people are the real danger" cycle just with a different cast.

No, I dont care that this dude has a drug addiction or that these two have a stilted relationship, show me the goddamn zombies!

Yes to both. Neagan turned antihero.

Okay one last question, is it known how much time has passed since the start of the show til the end of the show? Aging of characters doesn't really count because it may have taken them longer to film certain seasons etc.

I stopped watching when I learned the last season wouldnt be on Netflix.

I didn't even realize this show was still on

The show turned things around a few years ago with the Whisperers arc, but it was too little too late.

I believe 8-9 years in total, give or take a year.

If I'm not mistaken it's been close to like 10 years since I know there was at least a 2 year time skip after the Negan arc and a 5 year one after Rick got written off

I like to imagine it ended when the original part of the main characters made it to Alexandria.

I stopped watching around the time that Rick left the show.

It wasnt even specifically for THAT reason either, life happened and it just got to the point where I didnt want to put the effort into watching.

Used to be obsessed though, but I think around season 6 - 7 (when they did the cliffhanger season finale) it just got the point where it seemed like nothing major would happen outside of mid season and season finales.

It gets better after the first couple seasons when they kill of most of the original cast and replace them with more interesting characters. The final season is unwatchable as they decided they needed to add a baby that does nothing but cry to every other episode.

Did they give up on those Rick tv movies?

The title is so appropriate now.

The show was so good once but just fell apart so hard

I remember being hyped for Fear because I was expecting it to be actually about how society handled the zombie apocalypse and then it became just more of the same as the original show.

Loved the first season and when they were on the boat in season 2 and then yeah.

People used to be all over this show when it came out, do people still watch that one about the ongoing train in a world completely frozen over? I hear in that one there are no monsters just class warefare and how it will ultimately be the thing that destroys humanity in the end since nobody knows what happened how it happened or how to resolve it to make earth habitable again for people.

I thought the movie was pretty good, but the basic premise makes absolutely no sense, so I have no desire to watch a series.

The show could of gone another five or so seasons if Robert Kirkman kept making the comic like his boss wanted. The comic ended at 193 volumes and his boss wanted him to go for 300 before ending it.

Sounds like Snowpiercer. It's getting a fourth season even though they found a place they can live because not everyone left the train.

With all these spin off shows that are following this show it doesn't feel like it's ending anyways.

Spinoffs might be a way to get extra mileage out of popular shows, but they make less sense when the original show is dying.

It's a show that should have ended years ago.

I will binge the season when it comes to Netflix, but I no longer care to watch each week.

The last season was actually the best it had been in years, with the conclusion of the Whisperers storyline. But to most people the show went downhill once they did the BS with Glenn.

Kirkman really screwed the pooch when he killed off Carl because his actor wanted a new contract.

I thought that show already ended years ago.

I was in college when it premiered. Season 1 was in late 2010, so 12 years now.

Am I the only one who really didn't give a shit about Carl?

In fact I was more annoyed that Siddiq died so quickly afterwards making Carl's sacrifice pointless than I was by the fact Carl died.
