It was banned in Scotland in 1980 after a RIOT broke out after the 1980 Scottish Cup Final between Rangers and Celtic.

It has been banned in England since 1985 to curb hooliganism.

The English police are dead against revoking the ban.

I take it none of you Americans have heard of "10cent Beer Night" that was a promotion at the June 4th 1974 Baseball game between Texas Rangers V Cleveland Indians. Mass riots and fights broke out amongst the drunken fans.

So yes alcohol should be banned from Football grounds.

You can drink at football stadiums in England, just not in the stands themselves (so you can get a beer from the concessions stands before the match or at half time, you just can't take it with you to your seat).

Wow... they initially had said no alcholol allowed. Then last month ticket sales were low so they said ok alcohol allowed. Now the day before the first game they backtrack. This is all because of corrupt ass sepp bladder. He even came out last week and said he wishes he gave it to america.
