We started texting about if he was going to start dating again or if he was going to just recuperate a bit. He said he was going to start looking again, to which I told him a guy I knew was single (hes Mexican). My friend said that he doesnt find Mexican guys attractive and that thats a no-no. He did thank me for trying, though. I always found statements like that kind of weird. There are ugly and beautiful people found in every race. If someone says they're not attracted to a particularly common physical feature of a certain race, it still doesn't make sense to generalize that they aren't attracted to that race. Saying you'll only date one race or you'll never date another race is inflexible and takes it beyond a simple preference. It's possible to prefer a certain race while still being open to the idea of dating outside of that. Like for me, I'm black and most of my experience has been with black and Hispanic women. So those women are my preference. But I'm currently dating a white woman and she's been amazing so far. Imagine if I had completely closed myself off to the idea of dating white women. I would have missed out on an amazing match by judging her based on her race, rather than who she is as an individual. bigblu89 posted...
