What kind of jerky do you like? Personally I like the soft chewy kind. I don't like the super dry tough kinds.

I think he's complaining about the fact that a pound of beef costs a lot less than half a pound of jerky. Of course, the energy, time, labour, and equipment costs that go into making the jerky also need to be considered, so it's not exactly the most insightful comparison, but I get where he's coming from.

I usually use London Broil for jerky.

Stick it in the freezer for like 30 mins to firm it up, slice it thin, marinate overnight, then dehydrate
