I think Belgium will lose to Germany if they get through, and Uruguay, Switzerland and maybe Serbia would all have solid chances in the quarters. I do think the corner of the bracket they're most likely to end up in is the easiest route to the semis though.

Yeah i was basing my theory on Japan sealing that second spot. If they get Germany i can see them getting knocked out.

Every Canadian free kick has been bad

They kept going for long ball to far post and header back but it was so bad

Brazil tomorrow is probably the first time we'll see just how good a title contender is against a good European team. Belgium, Argentina, Holland & Germany haven't looked great and England,France and Spain haven't really been tested yet.

Cameroon looked solid first half but Switzerland just took control over the game as soon as they scored. Very tough group overall, but I think that might be it for Cameroon already. They're gonna need a result against Brazil to have any chance of qualifying.

Surprised Godin is still a starter, but I guess Araujo is recovering. Excited to see Valverde play, he's been lit this season.

Goalkeeper and whole backline being named Kim is gonna make commentating fun.

I was skeptical of Godin being there but as it turns out, he's been critical in defense and also ironically had Uruguay biggest goalscoring chance, so I take that back.

That red card really did signal the end of the road for Wales.

Judging finalists by first round almost never works out, also Holland is being underestimated for their first match in here.

Proud that Wales got here in the first place. Plot armour only takes you so far, and our lack of any midfielders finally caught up to us, but it's a massive achievement having gotten here at all. Hopefully we'll go up against England aiming for a win in the final group game and we might still have a chance of qualifying (albeit slim). Would be gutting to send Bale and Ramsey off without a win. It's a massive shame we didn't make 2018, when Allen, Ramsey and Bale were all fit enough to compete at this level. Glad I got to see us make a World Cup in my lifetime, never thought it'd be something that would happen and although I wish it were better, this is the first time I can really fault any of these players for us. Still time to wear the rainbow armband and cause a stir in the last game too! Should have taken a stand earlier, but there's no reason not to at this stage, when we're already on our way home.

Yeah it's great. I never used to mind Wales but after seeing their players celebrating England losing in 2016 i've always been against them. Can't see Wales qualifying for the World Cup again any time soon either. While the rest of the world get byes into the final, Europe will remain just as hard to qualify from.

Fun to look at the poll now. Brazil still looks good, Argentina much less so, but we'll see. Holland is in third, I thought they played a great second half but their win has gone mostly under the radar, we'll see how it goes.

Of course "Other" was the actual poll winner. I'm guessing some of that was Germany, which doesn't look as great now as before.

Some of the best looking teams, Spain and France (the latter after the first 15 minutes) got little attention.

Felt like everyone celebrated, partly because it came right after brexit maybe, but Iceland was just really loveable. IIRC like 10% of their population was there and they had that whole viking vibe. I remember that their throw-ins were more dangerous than other set pieces so teams starting giving them corners instead of throw-ins lol. Great run for such a small country.
